The biggest weakness in Godzilla and all other kaijus’ bodies is finally revealed. The monster known as Gojira is the perfect representation of the unstoppable essence of Mother Nature. A key part of Godzilla lore is that nobody and nothing can stop him, even when he’s taken down by humans, other kaiju, or a similarly powerful enemy. In the end, the King of the Monsters prevails.
IDW’s 2025 Godzilla comics add several new characters and elements to Godzilla’s story. The superpowered, kai-sei-energy wielding, G-mutant hero Jacen Braid is capable of fighting towering monsters one-on-one, and the terrifying new kaiju Lament is an ultra-intelligent creature who can talk like a human being. Lament’s offspring look and behave similarly to Alien‘s face-huggers.
New characters and creatures aren’t the only new additions to kaiju lore in IDW’s Godzilla, however.
Godzilla And All Other Kaijus Have Clear Weak Points In Their Bodies

As the team prepares to face Lament and Godzilla, veteran hero Rumi Chiba recalls her time as a G-Force member in Japan. Rumi explains to Jacen how she learned to “maximize effectiveness and minimize collateral damage.” Rumi’s teammates stunned the monsters with light, sound, and pheromones, and she took them down by striking “vulnerable pressure points” with her blade.
As Rumi explains, kaiju have “many nerve clusters across their bodies,” which serve as neurological control points for their colossal bodies, but also as weak spots that can be used by humans to steer or command them. With Jacen’s superhuman strength, it might be easy to turn any kaiju into a giant puppet, or neutralize Godzilla in minutes without endangering the city or attempting to use deadly force.
The idea of weak points might seem too obvious not to have been found and utilized yet. However, “weak” in terms of kaiju is still incredibly strong in terms of human capabilities. Countless attacks with military-grade weapons, intense blows between creatures, and massive amounts of debris aren’t enough to affect or damage these vulnerable points. Only a strategic attack could knock out or allow humans to puppeteer a kaiju.
The Best Way To Defeat A Kaiju Has Never Been Through Sheer Force
Attacking Godzilla Head-On Never Ends Well For Anybody
Throughout the decades, humanity has discovered multiple ways to combat city-destroying monsters, though none are ever easy. Conventional weapons rarely work, but advanced ones like oxygen destroyers, black hole bombs, or anti-nuclear energy bacteria have occasionally succeeded. Other methods include turning kaiju against one another, using psychic or energy-based control, or even manipulating weather and radiation levels to weaken or contain them rather than outright destroy them.
The latest method is surprisingly simple, but it’s perhaps much riskier and difficult to accomplish effectively. Attacking or stimulating kaijus’ weak spots is a far more precise and surgical method than brute-force approaches of the past. Now, fighting Godzilla and his enemies may become a science rather than an arms race.
