Any Rockstar movement is sure to stimulate tense, eager fans when it comes to Grand Theft Auto 6, and Rockstar updating its Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer playlist on YouTube—not for the first time this month, either—has understandably stirred them into a frenzy. It’s been almost nine months since Grand Theft Auto 6’s Trailer 2, and this subtle update could indicate that Trailer 3 has nearly finished gestating.
As noticed by user Expensive-Web-8172 on Reddit, the playlist seems to have been updated again recently. This corroborates the theory that there may be a brand-new trailer on the way, with Rockstar preparing to slot it into this playlist, and its timing couldn’t be more perfect if so.
Does This Mean GTA 6 Trailer 3 Is Coming?
It only took five months for Trailer 2 to be released following Trailer 1. Of course, nothing about Grand Theft Auto 6, especially its marketing, has been typical or predictable. There could be any number of reasons why Rockstar is updating its trailer playlist, and it’d probably be in fans’ best interests not to ascribe too much meaning to this, even if it does suspiciously reek of a new trailer being inbound.
A new Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer would be fantastic for a similarly large number of reasons, such as a way to tide fans over while the game’s release date remains so far out. That said, Rockstar owes fans nothing. The delay to November is in fans’ best interests, too, since the final product they receive will hopefully be much greater as a result.
Likewise, Rockstar could get away without launching a third trailer, and there is no likelihood that it would negatively affect the fanbase’s excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6. Either way, with Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 1 currently sitting at 272 million views and Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 2 currently sitting at 148 million views, it’ll be interesting to see if there’ll even be a Trailer 3, when it might launch, and which of Grand Theft Auto 6’s characters it chooses as its focal point.
GTA 6 Is Still On Track For November
All fans can confidently cling to is the fact that Grand Theft Auto 6 still has a release date scheduled for this year, only having been pushed back by six months. This is far better than if it was delayed indefinitely without a new date revealed, and fans are lucky to take what they can get from a game whose official details have been incredibly tight-lipped, and whose marketing has been explosive yet sparse.
Meanwhile, Rockstar’s YouTube channel update is certainly startling. If Trailer 3 does get released sometime soon, there is a big chance that it’s the last one fans get before Grand Theft Auto 6 launches this 2026 holiday season.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
