Guy Ritchie's Latest Record-Shattering Drama Continues To Dominate Streaming Globally

MobLand hit the ground running when it premiered earlier this year. Guy Ritchie‘s latest gritty crime drama launched with 2.2 million viewers tuning in for the first episode. The number would grow in subsequent weeks, making it one of the biggest shows on Paramount+. Over six months after the Season 1 finale, MobLand has remained in Paramount+’s top 10 as viewers continue to take in the story. Additionally, the series has been added to other international streaming services, making it available to an even broader base. Streaming data from FlixPatrol shows the series replicating its Paramount+ success across platforms such as HBO Max, Prime Video, Apple TV Store, and Claro Video.

MobLand‘s Paramount+ debut figure made it the platform’s biggest global series debut, trailing only domestic hits like Landman and 1923. Seven days later, the pilot episode saw a 298% increase in viewership, reaching 8.8 million global viewers. The last viewership numbers Paramount released in July 2025 placed the show at 26 million viewers, making it the second-most-popular Paramount+ series ever.

Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, said when announcing the show’s renewal:

MobLand has become a resounding triumph driven by the creative brilliance of Guy, Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett], and David C. Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances by Tom [Hardy], Pierce [Brosnan], and Helen [Mirren]. We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the United Kingdom.”

What to Expect in ‘MobLand’ Season 2

While the story in Season 1 focused on London’s crime families and other players, the show gradually expanded its scope and introduced international players. Hardy said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the story could expand to more countries in future seasons. He explained:

“There are international elements to organized crime, which are touched on in Season 1 and the control of drugs and ammunition and weapons and people and all kinds of things that go through Europe and from Africa through to South America, Pakistan and the variable commodities that move around Europe.”

However, the immediate issue after the explosive season finale is how the Harrigans regain control. MobLand also stars Janet McTeer (Kat), Joanne Froggatt (Jan Da Souza), Lara Pulver (Bella Harrigan), Geoff Bell (Richie Stevenson), Jasmine Jobson (Zosia), Mandeep Dhillon (Seraphina Harrigan), Anson Boon (Eddie Harrigan), Emmett J. Scanlan (Paul), and Daniel Betts (Brendan Harrigan).

MobLand Season 2 is now in production. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
