Daniel Radcliffe is best known as the titular hero of Harry Potter to many fans around the world. However, once the actor completed the eight-part movie saga, he turned his attention to more niche and meaningful roles across various genres. While some remember him for his villainous turn in The Lost City, and more recently starring in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, one of his underrated horror films will soon be streaming for free.
Per CBR, Horns will debut on Pluto TV later this month, just in time for the (early) spooky season run. The movie is adapted from Joe Hill’s (Stephen King’s son) novel of the same name, which follows Radcliffe’s character Ignatius “Ig” Perrish, who becomes the prime suspect when his girlfriend is sexually assaulted and killed. While the entire town shuns him, thinking he’s the culprit, things take a turn when he wakes up one morning with horns sprouting from his head. He soon discovers the horns bestow him with paranormal abilities, leading him down a path of revenge and self-discovery as he uses his newfound abilities to uncover the real killer.
The movie was a box office flop with mixed reviews. It has a 41 percent critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the audience was kinder with a slightly better 49 percent rating. Along with Radcliffe, the movie also cast Max Minghella as Lee, Joe Anderson as Terry, Juno Temple as Merrin, Kelli Garner as Glenna, and James Remar as Derrick. Further rounding out the cast are Kathleen Quinlan as Lydia, Heather Graham as Veronica, along with David Morse, Alex Zahara, Michael Adamthwaite and many more.
There’s a New ‘Harry Potter’ in Town
HBO is working on a new Harry Potter series, which will revive the magic of J.K. Rowling’s writing for a new generation. The series has set a brilliant cast and recently unveiled a new image of young actor Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter himself. The series also cast Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, completing the golden trio. The series’s showrunner, Francesca Gardiner, and director Mark Mylod said:
“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”
Horns will be available to stream on Pluto TV starting July 21. The Harry Potter series will debut sometime in 2027.
