Lavenza is a super boss who was added to Persona 5 Royal and can only be tackled during New Game+. But like other tough boss battles, you will need to meet a few requirements and be careful of certain mechanics before you can even beat her. You can encounter the boss fight in the third semester (NG+), and you should be prepared well before confronting her.
Like Jose in Persona 5 Royal, Lavenza is a secret boss who returns to reveal Igor’s true identity. You may recognize her as she was initially part of the twins, Caroline and Justine, but was ripped apart and her memories scattered. It’s worth pointing out that you can only battle Lavenza between 1/14 and 2/2. You can find her inside Mementos to trigger the fight, but you can only do so after finding a route to the treasure in the Final Palace.

Persona 5 Royal: How To Get True Ending (& Bonus Scenes)
The Persona 5 Royal true ending is the most satisfying the game has to offer – here’s how to get it, along with the bonus scenes it comes with.
How To Find & Beat Lavenza in Persona 5 Royal
Location & All Phases
After you have found the route to the treasure in the final Palace, you will need to find Lavenza in Mementos before 2/2. However, the fight only unlocks after your second visit to Mementos. Do make sure you don’t spend too much time as you might encounter a boss battle with P5 Royal‘s Reaper, who is extremely hard to defeat.
Make sure to pick a team before facing Lavenza, as she will end the fight if you attempt to switch team members during battle.
Her fight has four phases. For the first three phases, you must damage Lavenza with 5000 damage before nine turns are up. If not, the fight is over. Here’s how to deal with each phase.
Phase |
How To Counter |
---|---|
1 |
Lavenza takes more damage after using a specific elemental attack. If she uses Fire, do Ice attacks. If she does Wind, use Electric. The best way to take her down in this phase is to be patient and pay attention to her weaknesses. |
2 |
Deal Technical Damage on every turn. Use Sleep/Dizzy to trigger future attacks as Technical damage. |
3 |
Lavenza will now take Physical and Gun Damage. If you fail to land a Critical Hit at least once per turn, the fight is over. |
4 |
Just wail on her to take her down and defeat her within 12 turns. |
Secret bosses are meant to test your full capabilities in battle. Each is hidden deep towards the end of the game, and it is very likely that Lavenza will take a few attempts to take down, but with practice, she will eventually fall. You can also battle Jose, another new character introduced in Persona 5 Royal, as a secret boss.
