Warp Discs give players access to hidden areas in High of Life, unlocking new content to the game, hidden achievements, and further hilarity.
After the Krubis bounty in High on Life, players receive an item called the Warp Remote, which allows them to use Warp Discs to unlock bonus locations that otherwise do not appear in the original narrative of the game. Although not needed to progress the story of High on Life, these new areas have achievements that count toward a 100% completion goal that players may be interested in pursuing. Additionally, the quirks present throughout the game are exemplified in these locations, providing players with more of the game’s style of humor within this extra content.
Warp Crystals are the necessary currency used to purchase Warp Discs for the Warp Remote and may be exchanged while visiting Blorto’s Chef Stand in Blim City after players unlock the entire Warp System by completing the Krubis and Douglas bounties. The alien Blorto and their shop exist right outside the player’s house, indicated by a red-colored octopus sitting atop the establishment next to the bench where Gene was encountered for the first time. Unfortunately, despite being taught how to use the Warp Remote leading up to the boss fight in High on Life‘s Krubis bounty mission, players are not told where to find more Warp Crystals to utilize this mechanic again.
Warp Disc & Crystals Locations in High on Life
Players can discover Warp Crystals scattered throughout the regions they visit during missions, but the items are abundant on top of enemy Warp Bases. These pink, crystalline stones are fairly distinct compared to other collectible objects and spawn at random but within a consistent area range. The section of High on Life that perhaps hosts the most of these Warp Crystals is the Upper Valley in Zephyr Paradise. Many Warp Bases reside here, with sealed crystals on their roof guarded by a seal that unlocks once players defeat every enemy in the surrounding area.
Once players have collected enough Warp Crystals and are ready to explore bonus locations with their talking guns in High on Life, they may return to Blorto and exchange a certain number of Crystals for an appropriate Warp Disc. There are six Warp Discs in total, which players must activate by traveling to Warp Points and selecting a prompt from the Warp Menu that appears from the interaction input. Players can switch any of the Warp Discs they’ve found in High on Life whenever possible and use them to replay these secret levels however often they wish.
