Anime fans rejoice because Kana Akatsuki, the acclaimed author behind Violet Evergarden, is back with a new project that already promises to be just as emotionally heartbreaking and visually breathtaking. Her light novel series Agents of the Four Seasons is being adapted into an anime by the renowned WIT Studio, known for hits like Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga. The series will kick off by adapting the “Dance of Spring” arc, a storyline packed with magical realism, deep character connections, and the poetic elegance that Akatsuki is so loved for.
The announcement, via @4seasons_anime on X, came with a stunning preview visual and a promotional video showcasing the show’s ethereal tone. Featuring the season’s embodiment, Hanaba Hinagiku, and her loyal bodyguard, Himetaka Sakura, the first story arc will explore the symbolic awakening of spring in a snow-blanketed world. If fans were touched by the emotional storytelling and gorgeous animation of Violet Evergarden, there is every reason to believe Agents of the Four Seasons will offer a similar, if not deeper, emotional journey.
