'Made in Korea' Is Ready To Be Your Next K-Drama Obsession With First Trailer [Exclusive]

South Korean dramatic TV series, known colloquially as “K-dramas,” have become more and more popular internationally with every passing year, especially with streaming services now making them available worldwide. Hulu’s latest K-drama, the period thriller Made in Korea, is set to drop on the streaming service on December 24, 2025. They’ve just released a new teaser to whet the audience’s appetite for its high-stakes action, dramatic intrigue, and jaw-dropping plot twists.

Made in Korea is set in the 1970s, a precarious time when South Korea was beginning to transition from a poverty-stricken post-war country to the high-tech nation it has now become. It centers around two men whose lives will intersect with history and each other. Kitae (Hyun Bin, Crash Landing on You) leads a double life, driven by his unquenchable thirst for power: by day, he’s an agent for the Korea Central Intelligence Agency, and by night, he’s a ruthless drug smuggler.

As he moves to consolidate his power in both worlds, he’s faced with one obstacle: Gunyoung (Jung Woo-sung, Tell Me That You Love Me), a prosecutor who is completely implacable in his single-minded quest for justice. Over the course of a turbulent time on the Korean peninsula, an unstoppable force will meet an immovable object, and only one can win. Who will it be? You’ll have to tune in to Made in Korea‘s two-episode premiere on December 24 to find out.

While K-dramas have had a steadily growing audience outside of South Korea, the emergence of the dystopian thriller Squid Game on Netflix brought the genre to the next level. A look at a sadistic game that exploits the vulnerable for the amusement of the ruling class, Squid Game became one of Netflix’s most popular series ever, spawning a reality series, Squid Game: The Challenge, and an American version, produced by David Fincher. Other notable dramas that have gained an international audience include Full House, Winter Sonata, and Autumn in my Heart.

Made in Korea also stars Woo Dohwan, Cho Yeojeong, Seo Eunsoo, Won Jian, Jung Sungil, Kang Gilwoo, Roh Jaewon, Lily Franky, and Park Yongwoo. It is directed by Woo Min-ho (The Man Standing Next) and written by Park Eunkyo (The Silent Sea) and Park Joonseok. It is a production of Hive Media Corp.

Made in Korea will premiere on Hulu on December 24, 2025. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
