New Look at ‘Sentimental Value’ Teases a Career-Best Performance From ’Andor’s Stellan Skarsgård [Exclusive]

‘Sentimental Value’ Is Already a Hit Among Critics

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, 87 critics have filed their gushing praise for Sentimental Value so far, with the film boasting a huge 97%, “certified fresh” score at the time of writing. “Deftly exploring the uneasy tension between artistic expression and personal connection,” the critics’ consensus on the site reads, “Sentimental Value is a bracingly mature work from writer-director Joachim Trier that’s marvelously acted across the board.” Therese Lacson reviewed the movie for Collider, saying:

“Trier’s movie is emotional and cuts to the heart of something deeply relatable. We might not all have fathers who are famous directors, we might not all be stage actors with anxiety, but we all have these complicated relationships with our family.
