Duck Dynasty is making its much-anticipated return to reality TV with Duck Dynasty: The Revival on A&E this summer. The long-running show followed the lives of the Robertson family of duck hunters in Louisiana. A&E aired the show from 2012 to 2017, making several Robertson family members huge reality stars during the show’s reign.
Patriarch Phil Robertson and his wife, Kay “Miss Kay” Robertson, raised four boys: Alan Robertson, Jase Robertson, Willie Robertson, and Jep Robertson. Most of the kids are involved with the family business, which is hunting waterfowl.
The show centered around the Robertson family and their faith.
After controversy surrounding homophobic and racist remarks by Phil, the Robertson family members are trying to change. Many of their grandkids became focal points of the show, including granddaughters Sadie Robertson, Rebecca Robertson, and Bella Robertson, and grandsons Will Robertson and John Luke Robertson. Some kids have gone onto careers in media, via influencing or podcasting, in addition to other endeavors.

Duck Dynasty: The Revival Has Been Announced By A&E
In January, A&E released a statement that they would be rebooting Duck Dynasty as, fittingly, Duck Dynasty: The Revival after an eight-year absence. The show has been green-lit for two seasons—20 one-hour episodes—following the family on their journey after their hit show left TV.
“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home. We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures,” said Willie and Korie in the press release.
A lot has changed for the Robertsons. The refreshed show will focus on Willie and his wife, Korie Robertson. Their children, John Luke Robertson, Sadie Robertson Huff, Will Robertson, Bella Robertson Mayo, and Rebecca Robertson Loflin, will also get screentime.

Willie And Korie Will Head Up Revival Cast
Some things remain the same. Willie, who described himself as “semi-retired” from the family business in an Instagram promo for the show, said there were still things he needed to teach his kids about the “Robertson DNA.” The promo also shows Sadie saying she is “not about squirrel,” to which her Uncle Si responds that they are all “a bunch of yuppies.”
The cast of Duck Dynasty: The Revival will be mostly familiar faces. Korie and Willie Robertson and their brood, aside from son Rowdy Robertson, are slated to appear. Other familiar faces, like Miss Kay, Uncle Si Robertson, and Jase, are also scheduled to appear on Duck Dynasty: The Revival.

It’s A High-Drama Spectacle
Fans of the OG series Duck Dynasty will probably tune into the spin-off, Duck Dynasty: The Revival, but that isn’t their only option. The lives of these cast members are complex. All have suffered, and they’re remarkably honest about what has happened to them. In the docuseries, there is a ring of truth. Phil gets extremely real about drinking and what it did to his life.
Phil doesn’t sugarcoat things – he puts everything out there in ways that are easy for viewers to understand. He’s not afraid to be who he really is. The Duck Dynasty star’s brutal candor gives the docuseries its gravity – other cast members also share harrowing memories.
What’s great is that it’s not all doom and gloom. There is sadness, but in terms of Phil’s own journey, he was able to embrace sober living and his faith. Both of those things helped to keep him strong before his sad passing from Alzheimer’s Disease in 2025. Fans can view the documentary via the Roku and Frndly channels.
Viewers who enjoy intense and confessional documentaries will probably love the docuseries. It’s immediately riveting as the family’s story is so dramatic, and the cast members are willing to bare their souls in front of the cameras. Phil had a difficult life, but the patriarch never gave up, and there are lessons to learn from him and other cast members.
That’s just the beginning in terms of what this raw and moving documentary series has to offer. With Duck Dynasty: The Revival on the horizon, and the documentary already available, there’s plenty of Duck Dynasty-themed content for fans to enjoy.
