Former Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson reveals that he would definitely return to the show. However, it would have to be under one condition.
Davidson was a cast member from 2014 to 2022. In an interview with People, he said that if Saturday Night Live executive producer and creator, Lorne Michaels, ever asked him to come back, he would do it in the blink of an eye. The actor stated, “I’d do anything for Lorne.“
He also reminisced about his time on Saturday Night Live. He recalled, “I had a great time hosting last time, and anytime you get that call, it’s an honor and a privilege.” Davidson further elaborated, “It’s always relevant, it’s a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great.“
He continued to praise Michaels. He was thankful that the producer took a chance on him and gave him the breakout role that launched his career in the entertainment industry. “I owe that guy my life. He jump-started everything.”
Davidson joined the Saturday Night Live cast during its 40th season. He was only 20 years old, which made him one of the youngest members on the show. The actor stayed for eight seasons and came back to host in October 2023 (a year after he left). The episode he hosted also featured Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, as well as Ice Spice, who was the musical guest.
During his time on the show, Davidson had many memorable moments. His portrayal of a recurring character named Chad was very well-received by audiences. Chad was a dimwitted character who usually responded to situations very nonchalantly, with phrases such as “Aw, OK” or sometimes, just “OK.” The character’s first appearance was in a skit called Pool Boy which also starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
