Today marks the long-awaited Pokémon Day livestream. Taking place at 9 A.M. ET, the first Pokémon Presents of 2026 is finally here and fans are expecting all the latest news on upcoming video games, spin-offs, mobile games, TCG updates, and more. However, the biggest announcement expected to arrive today is the unveiling of Pokémon’s Gen 10 saga, and with leaks already stirring up hype, it is set to be an exciting day.
On top of that, yet another leak has really been shared which may just show Game Freak’s plans for Gen 11, even ahead of the launch of Gen 10.
Pokémon Gen 11 Sounds… Different
With all eyes currently on the Gen 10 announcement, it is easy to forget that, thanks to a major leak back in 2024, plans for the Pokémon saga leading all the way up to 2030 were revealed. As such, the future of the franchise beyond Gen 10’s games were shared, and thanks to one user over on r/PokeLeaks, Game Freak’s plans for the next collection of games are now public knowledge.
Sharing details on Legends 3, Gen 10, Seed, and Gen 11, the user detailed what each project was in relation to its codename between the years of 2023 and 2027. For example, ‘Sudachi’ was Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and ‘Ikkaku’ was Pokémon Legends Z-A. ‘Seed’ does not have an official name yet, but is expected to be Gen 1-Gen 4 remakes, and ‘Megaoasis’ is the upcoming Pokémon Pokopia.
Gen 10 is expected to kick off with Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves, and will feature weather move mechanics, procedurally generated archipelagos, and with a release date expected for Winter 2026. However, it is Gen 11 that looks the most interesting, as the leak reveals that it will have a “futuristic approach”. What this means, we do not yet know. Could Pokémon explore a cyberpunk-esque setting?
We Still Have Pokémon Gen 10 To Come, Of Course!
Needless to say, Gen 11 may already be in development according to these leaks, but it is not expected to begin until at least 2030, so it will be a long time until we find out what this “futuristic approach” may entail. Until then, however, Pokémon fans can look forward to Gen 10, which is set to be unveiled later today during the Pokémon Day livestream. It is here that we may finally get news of the next major video game installment, as well as some remakes of course. In the meantime, you can check out three free Pokémon games you can dive into right now.
