Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Can Now Explore Guarma In This Map Expansion

Following the failed bank robbery in Blackwater, Arthur and other members of the Van der Linde gang find themselves washed upon the shores of Guarma after getting caught in a shipwreck. As a result, Chapter 5 of Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place on the secluded tropical island where Arthur soon discovers that the island and its inhabitants are under the power of sugar plantation dictator, Colonel Alberto Fussar.

In an attempt to escape back to the mainland, Arthur joins forces with a rebel group led by Hercule Fontaine to overthrow Fussar and give the power of the island back to its people, but with players spending such a short amount of time on Guarma, one fan has found a way to enhance the experience.

The Aftermath of Guarma is a free-to-download mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 which aims to breathe new life into Guarma as we know it. Created by generalpengu on Nexus Mods, users can expect a border, more detailed port, a better village, secrets, and lore across the whole of Guarma’s map, making Arthur’s time there a lot more fruitful. Not only that, but the creator has found a way to extend Guarma’s lore even further by drawing up a timeline of the island’s events following Arthur’s departure:

1904: The rebels started a revolution that led to the great battle of Bahía la Paz.

1906: After 2 years of fighting, the rebels lost. During the Battle of Bahía la Paz, 250+ rebels, 200+ soldiers, and 24 civilians died.

1906: Not long after the Battle of Bahía la Paz, the American army and the rebels worked together in an effort to control Guarma.

1906: The Americans arrive at Guarma, which leads to the Battle of San Juan Hill.

1908: Guarma was successfully conquered and is now controlled by the Americans.

1909: The Americans start mining Guarma for materials.

1909: The rebels and the Americans start fighting, leading to the battle for New Guarma.

1910: The rebel leader Hercules gets assassinated by exploding his boat while he was on it.

1910: The rebels keep fighting, weakening the Americans but eventually losing.

1911: The Cuban army invades Guernica, easily defeating the weakened Americans.

1911: Guerma gets a new colonel, Zahid Thorne.

1912: Thorne heavily fortifies Guarma and forces people to work at Moonshine Farm.

1912: Guarma makes huge profits selling moonshine to Saint Denis.

Of course, none of this is canon to Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 universe, but it is exciting to see the events that could have taken place following our impact on Guarma. Other than that, the mod’s creator does not share any other information about what features this mod includes, encouraging you to go out and explore yourself, with secrets to be found, lore to be discovered, and stunning scenery to be photographed.

The Aftermath of Guarma is just one of thousands of free mods available to download for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, allowing you to return to the game almost a decade on from its launch and discover all that it has to offer and more.
