Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was last seen on the evening of January 31, 2026, but her family still holds out hope she’ll come home after her disappearance.
On Wednesday night, Savannah and her two siblings, Annie and Camron, released a public statement on Instagram in hopes of bringing her home safely. The caption was a simple message, “Bring her home.“
The three siblings appeared solemn in the video, but they were all determined to share their message of hope. Savannah, reading from a piece of paper, started by thanking everyone for their prayers in this difficult time.
She then spoke kindly of her mother:
Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light. She is funny, spunky, and clever. She has grandchildren that adore her, crowd around her, and cover her with kisses. She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge. Talk to her, and you’ll see.
After that, the NBC Today show host started to break down into tears as her sister spoke.
Annie began, “The light is missing from our lives,” and went on to highlight more of their mother’s amazing qualities. She also revealed that Nancy has held onto the joy of life “despite already having passed through great trials of pain and grief.“
Fighting to keep her composure, Annie reminds everyone watching the video that she and her siblings are all normal people who need their mother. Then, she begs her mother to come home before letting her own tears fall.
Savannah speaks again, but this time it’s different. She speaks directly to whoever may have taken her mother.
She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart, is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer.
Next, she addressed the rumors of a ransom note being sent to media outlets. She said, “We are ready to talk,” but made it clear that she needs clear confirmation that her mother is still alive because voices and images can be “easily manipulated” in today’s world.
It’s then her turn to directly address her mother, “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter.” Savannah reminds viewers that everyone is looking for her mother, and her family will not rest until she is found.
The news anchor finished her statement with, “We rejoice in advance for the day that we hold you in our arms again. We love you, Mom.“
Camron and Annie also share their love for their mother before the clip ends.
Nancy was reported as missing after she didn’t attend church on Sunday. After an investigation, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department determined she was likely abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night. It is unlikely she left on her own accord due to her limited mobility.
