Steam 9/10 Game Completely Free To Keep Forever For Next 48 Hours

Another day, another free game to download and play on Steam. There are new free games being added to Steam, every single day, and it can be exhausting trying to make sure you don’t miss anything good and, at the same time, keep on top of your backlog of purchased games.

Whether you have time to play it right now or not, there’s one free game that’s currently only available for the next 48 hours (at the time of writing). It’s not hidden behind a subscription or anything like that, either. This game is 100 percent free to add to your Steam library and keep forever. The one and only catch is you need to claim it before May 27 at 6pm.

If you’re interested, I’d suggest you head over to the Steam page for Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 and grab it while you can. Released back in 2017, this is an incredibly popular simulation game that, as you probably guessed, puts you in boots of a car mechanic.

“Build and expand your repair service empire in this incredibly detailed and highly realistic simulation game, where attention to car detail is astonishing,” reads the game’s description. “Find classic, unique cars in the new Barn Find module and Junkyard module. You can even add your self-made car in the Car Editor.”

Developer Red Dot Games promises photorealistic graphics (maybe by 2017 standards), 40+ cars, 10+ tools, and 1000+ parts waiting for you. You can also upgrade your workshop, take on a variety of jobs, and even take the cars out on a racetrack to test performance and see if there’s any more work left to do. It’s a substantial package that could keep you busy for a very long time, especially if you’re into cars.

Since releasing nearly ten years ago, Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 has garnered an impressive 90 percent of positive reviews on Steam from over 21,000 players. A lot of gamers praise the sim’s weirdly relaxing vibes, while others claim it’s genuinely educational if you want to learn a little bit more about what’s going on under the hood of your own vehicle.

“You haven’t lived until you’ve seen the expression on a real life mechanic’s face when you explain your reference for arguing about how to fix your engine problem comes from a video game that got released almost 10 years ago,” is probably my favorite user review for this game. Maybe ever.

So, consider this a PSA: you only have 48 hours left to claim this game for free on Steam before it goes back to its regular price. Try not to miss out. And be sure to check out some of the other free games currently available right now.
