Steam gamers have less than 24 hours left to grab an often overlooked 2016 game completely free. You don’t need any kind of subscription, and there are no hidden costs involved. This one is truly 100 percent off — the only catch is that you need to be quick if you want to claim it.
2016 was a pretty huge year for video games. We got huge hits like Uncharted 4, DOOM, Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, and The Last Guardian. This particular free game is… not quite on the same level as the ones I just mentioned. But hey, a free game is a free game, right?
Caveman World Is 100-Percent Off Now
Usually I’d make a joke about how it “rocks”
Developed and published by GrabTheGames back in 2016, I’d be amazed if Caveman World was ever on your radar. To give it its full title, Caveman World: Mountains of Unga Boonga is described as a retro-inspired platformer adventure game set in fantasy prehistoric land. You play as a Caveman named Unga, exploring various levels and working to overcome increasingly difficult enemies, obstacles, and traps.
I’ll level with you: Caveman World looks an awful lot like it could have been a WiiWare game. But I really don’t mean that as a bad thing! Heck, judging by the user reviews on Steam, this is actually a pretty fun platformer and a decent way to kill some time.
Many of the reviews praise its colorful, simple visuals, while others appreciate its sense of humor and back-to-basics gameplay. If you want to feel like you just woke up on Christmas morning and got a Mega Drive game from your nan that you didn’t ask for, Caveman World is the way to go. It’ll remain free until 6pm tomorrow (December 30), so hop to it.
Steam Has Tons Of Freebies At The Moment
There’s plenty to sink your teeth into
If, for some mad reason, Caveman World: Mountains of Unga Boonga isn’t exactly your cup of tea, there are tons of free games you can check out on Steam right now. Whether you like puzzle games, action games, shooters, cozy sims, or anything in between, if you look hard enough, there’s something there for you.
To claim any of these free Steam games, all you have to do is head over to the relevant store page and add the game to your library. From there, it’s as easy as downloading it whenever you feel like taking it for a spin. Couldn’t be easier.
