Sandwiched between its big successes of How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3, DreamWorks released a little sci-fi film in 2015 about an outcast alien and a little girl just trying to get Home. The sweet little film came packed with an otherworldly cast, headlined by the likes of Rihanna, The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parson at the height of his powers, the great Steve Martin, and Jennifer Lopez fresh off of The Boy Next Door with 9-1-1‘s Ryan Guzman. Despite all the star power and a solid $386 million box office, though, it’s mostly forgotten among the studio’s larger catalog, especially considering the movies around it. Now, however, it’s getting a chance to shine again on streaming, rising to #4 on Netflix’s global charts and beating out some big names in Happy Gilmore 2 and Megamind.
