A new clip from Stranger Things 5 leaked on social media over the weekend, and it hints two major characters are in big trouble.
Shared via the Stranger Things Spoilers account on Twitter, the clip features a demorgorgon attack at the Wheeler’s house. Set to ABBA’s “Fernando,” the clip reveals the demogorgon demolishing the Wheeler’s house. It appears to be looking for something.
It smashes the door to the bathroom and shower before stopping above the bath tub. Beneath the bubbles, Karen (Care Buono) and Holly (Nell Fisher) are holding their breath under the water, hiding from the demogorgon.
Of course, fans are freaking out on social media because it looks like Karen and Holly are in serious danger of getting killed by the demogorgon… or worse.
One fan tweeted, “Karen is so cooked.”
Another said, “For some reason vecna sent a demegorgoran after holly.”

Stranger Things 5 teaser hints Holly is in danger
This Stranger Things 5 clip is interesting for a few reasons. Mainly, there’s been a lot of speculation over the last few years about how the Wheelers factor into the story. There have been many theories that Karen Wheeler is actually somehow related to Henry Creel / Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower). We know Holly, who is the youngest Wheeler sibling, will have a much bigger role this season. Fans believe that Holly will be taken by Vecna or be used against her siblings in the final season.
Of course, that’s just speculation at this point, but there’s a lot of smoke here for there not to be a fire, you know? Holly has obviously been on the outside of this story, but Vecna knows a lot about the Wheelers after he accessed Nancy’s memories in Stranger Things 4. Perhaps, this is all part of his plan.

We also learned in the first five minutes of Stranger Things 5 that Vecna has the demogorgons doing his bidding, even all the way back to the events of the first season. The opening scene of the new season revealed that the demogorgon was hunting Will for Vecna to use. We’ve always known there was something different about how Will was hunted in the first season, even going back to how the something magically unlocked the door to the Byers house in the opening scene when Will (Noah Schnapp) went missing. It’s looking like it was Vecna all along, but that hasn’t been fully explained.
It looks like Holly could be targeted in a similar way. We don’t know that the demogorgon is there to kill them. While that could happened, Holly could also be taken by the demogorgon into the Upside Down. Perhaps, that is the catalyst that forces the heroes of Hawkins to take the fight to Vecna? We’ll have to wait and see. The Duffer brothers have something wild up their sleeve this season!
We’re closer than ever to the Stranger Things 5 premiere. Vol. 1 premieres on Wednesday, Nov. 26, followed by Vol. 2 on Thursday, Dec. 25. That’s Christmas Day. Then, we have the series finale arriving on Wednesday, Dec. 31, which is New Year’s Day.
