The days of Superman pulling his punches to keep his full power in check are officially over, now that his best friend has given him permission to let loose. And the DC Universe will never be the same again.
Fana have long debated the true limits of Superman’s power, and the question of just how much damage he could inflict if he actually chose to. That very question had long been a nightmare scenario for Bruce Wayne, before the launch of DC K.O. killed him, leaving Superman to fight on without him.
But if Batman had lived to see what his death would unleash in the Man of Steel, he might have chosen his last words more carefully.
Batman’s Death Gives Superman One Final Order For The Tournament: “Enjoy It”
Bruce Wayne Knows This is The Fight Clark Has Waited For
The deadly tournament to level up DC’s Greatest champion beings, fittingly, with a game night between Clark, Lois, Bruce, and Diana. For a hero like Superman, who is constantly focused on protecting, defending, and thinking only of others, the idea of a competitive board game is a true challenge. It’s Bruce who asks Clark to consider this as an opportunity:
“This is one of those rare chances when you get to play to win. For yourself. Enjoy it.”
The game night is cut short before Clark can take the advice, as Darkseid kills the Trinity, and time is rewound one week for the heroes to plan how to change their fate. Their solution? To compete against each other for the strength to fight Darkseid hand-to-hand. But even then, Superman can’t help but focus his efforts on helping his friends, having no real desire for this competition.
That all changes when DC’s greatest villains enter the game by surprise, and The Joker kills Batman directly in front of Superman. Even the fate of the world wasn’t enough to push Superman to up his game, but the death of his closest friend is a brutal wake-up call. With his final words, Bruce reminds Superman that this time he must play, and play to win. “Enjoy it.”
The Rage Unleashed By Superman Proves He’s Already A God Among Heroes
The World is Not Ready For a Superman Finally Playing To Win
The limits have officially been removed, with Superman moving too fast to even be seen, defeating every towering infernal obstacle or enemy in front of him in a matter of seconds. And with the sun-powered brass knuckles he’s using on top of his own super-strength, it’s no wonder nobody even knows what hit them.
How far will Superman go, now that he is fighting to avenge his dead friend? Is his victory guaranteed, or has Joker accidentally created DC’s next monster? Only time will tell.
