The 10 Best Movies in Theaters Right Now

The final days of February 2025 are bringing more movies from different genres to theaters, and these, along with some of the biggest hits from early February, are now playing in theaters. 2024 was an interesting and successful year for the film industry, with big hits in different genres. 2024 brought movies like the comedy The Fall Guy, the drama Challengers, the horror movies Longlegs and Nosferatu, the sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the musical Wicked, and a lot more.

February saw the release of Ke Huy Quan’s action comedy Love Hurts, the rom-com slasher Heart Eyes, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain America: Brave New World, and Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey, based on the short story of the same name by Stephen King. Joining them and more this week is a movie based on a documentary, a comedy-drama about friendship and grief, and a crime comedy with a very fun cast.

Last Breath tells the true story of a group of seasoned deep-sea divers, who must battle the raging elements to rescue one of their crewmates trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean’s surface. Last Breath is the feature film remake of the 2019 documentary of the same name co-directed by Parkinson and Richard da Costa.

My Dead Friend Zoe is a comedy-drama directed by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes. My Dead Friend Zoe tells the story of Merit and Zoe, two Afghanistan veterans who met in the Army and became best friends. Back home, Merit struggles to readjust to life with Zoe, who is now dead but always by her side. All this while Merit also comes head to head with her Vietnam vet grandfather, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, as she becomes his caretaker at their family’s ancestral lake house.

Starring in Riff Raff are Ed Harris, Bill Murray, Jennifer Coolidge, Lewis Pullman, Pete Davidson, and Gabrielle Union.

The Monkey

The Monkey Was Released On February 21, 2025

The Monkey is a horror comedy directed by Osgood Perkins and based on Stephen King’s 1980 short story of the same name. The Monkey introduces twin brothers Hal and Bill, who find a vintage toy monkey in the attic that belonged to their father. However, what they could never have anticipated, was that, once the toy is activated, it unleashes chaos and death, and they can’t get rid of the monkey. Years later, now as adults, when inexplicable deaths start happening again, the brothers reconcile to finally destroy the cursed toy.

Cleaner Was Released On February 21, 2025

Cleaner is an action thriller directed by Martin Campbell. When an energy company’s annual gala is taken over by activists, radical members of the group take hostages and threaten to destroy the building if the police intervene. The one hope for the hostages might be Joey Locke, a dishonorably discharged but highly trained ex-soldier now working as the building’s window cleaner, and whose brother is among the hostages.

Sam, with the help of a couple of allies, must rush to discover the reason behind an evil global plot, but in the process, he will make other important discoveries.

Paddington in Peru is a live-action animated comedy directed by Dougal Wilson and the third chapter in the Paddington movie series. In this new adventure, Paddington gets a letter directly from the home for retired bears in Peru. In it, Paddington is informed that Aunt Lucy misses him and has been acting strangely, so he decides to fly to Peru, accompanied by the Browns. However, once they arrive in Peru, a mystery will take them into the Amazon rainforest and all the way into the mountain peaks of Peru.

Love Hurts is an action comedy movie directed by Jonathan Eusebio in his directorial debut. Love Hurts follows Marvin Gable, a successful realtor in the Milwaukee suburbs. One day, Marvin gets a mysterious envelope from Rose, his former partner-in-crime because, as it turns out, Marvin used to be a violent hitman. Rose warns Marvin that his brother is coming after him, which forces him to face his dark past and go back to some old ways.

A serial killer known as the “Heart Eyes Killer” has been unleashing horror on Valentine’s Day for years, stalking and killing happy couples. Unfortunately for Ally and Jay, they are mistaken for a couple by the killer, so they have to spend the most romantic night of the year doing their best to survive.
