The Community Movie Status Surprisingly Updated By Star

Actor Alison Brie, who rose to fame playing Annie Edison on the groundbreaking sitcom Community, provided a long-awaited but disappointing update about Community: The Movie. Die-hard fans of the series have waited years for the members of Greendale Community College’s wacky study group to reassemble for a sequel film and to deliver on the promise based on the show’s iconic catchphrase, “six seasons and a movie.”

In ScreenRant’s exclusive interview with Brie about her and husband Dave Franco’s new horror film, Together, the actor gave a concerning update about the production for the upcoming Community movie. While the details are vague, she reveals that the movie has faced another delay, but that the cast is still committed to finishing it one day. Check out her comments below:

“I truly have nothing to say about the Community movie. It’s sort of paused, and we’re all — I know the cast is really rooting for it. We all love each other so much and would love to get back on set someday.”

Based on Brie’s comments, it seems people will have to wait even longer for the Community film to see the light of day. Since Community ended its sixth and final season in 2015, fans have been waiting roughly ten years for the cast to reappear in a follow-up movie and continue their zany, dysfunctional stories at Greendale.

Joel McHale Says The Community Movie May Not Be The End For The Beloved Series: “I Know A Few Others Are Game”

EXCLUSIVE: Joel McHale says the upcoming Community movie may not be the end for the beloved comedy series, explaining how the series could continue.

Donald Glover, in particular, has become one of the most prolific actors, writers, and musicians in the world, making it especially challenging for him to reprise his iconic role as Troy Barnes in the Community movie. Even the show’s creator, Dan Harmon, has become busier running the mega-hit TV show, Rick & Morty.

Brie’s starring role in Together probably made it even more difficult for filming to continue on Community: The Movie. It’s clear that Brie and her friends from Community are dying to finish and share this sequel movie with the world. How much longer fans have to wait remains to be seen.
