Kim Yoon-seok as Jeon Young-ha

Born January 21, 1968

Actor: Kim Yoon-seok was born in Danyang County, South Korea, and gained notoriety as an actor for his role as an ex-cop turned pimp in the action thriller movie The Chaser. The role earned him multiple Best Actor awards and gained him wider recognition. Since then, Kim Yoon-seok has earned 16 awards and 23 award nominations as both an actor and a director. Kim Yoon-seok made his directorial debut in 2019 with Another Child, a family drama movie about teenagers struggling with their parents’ affairs. The Frog is Kim Yoon-seok’s first K-drama in 17 years.

Character: Jeon Young-ha is a retiree who runs a guesthouse deep in the woods. He works to fulfill his wife’s wishes for peace, despite being burdened by debts. However, his quest for tranquility is soon perturbed by the arrival of the mysterious guest, Yoo Seong-ah.

Yoon Kye-sang as Gu Sang-joon

Born December 20, 1978

Actor: Born in Seoul, South Korea, Yoon Kye-sang is a former member of the K-pop group g.o.d. who chose to pursue an acting career following his departure from the group in 2004. Yoon Kye-sang made his acting debut the same year, and his role as Kang Min-jae in Flying Boys earned him the Best New Actor award at the 2005 Baeksang Art Awards. Yoon has since starred in other notable projects, including the movies Poongsan and The Outlaws, where he also received several awards and nominations for his acting efforts.

Character: Yoon Kye-sang’s character, Gu Sang-joon, is a kind man who strongly values family. He runs a rural motel but finds its tranquil environment disturbed when a strange guest appears. After a major event, Gu Sang-joon begins to crumble.

Go Min-si as Yoo Seong-ah

Born February 15, 1995

Actor: Born in Daejeon, South Korea, Go Min-si is best known for her work on the Netflix K-dramas Sweet Home and Love Alarm. The actress has appeared in various shows in supporting roles, such as The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and Jirisan, before gaining a leading role in the historical K-dramaYouth of May. Go Min-si has also acted in several movies and earned the Best New Actress Award at the 44th Blue Dragon Awards in 2023 for her performance in Smugglers. The Frog is Go Min-si’s third original Netflix production.

Character: Yoo Seong-ah is a mysterious woman who arrives as a guest at the guesthouse The Frog centers around. Her character exudes an enigmatic aura that unsettles those at the guesthouse. Seong-ah is bold and unafraid to get what she wants, and her unhinged actions send chills throughout the Netflix K-drama.

Lee Jung-eun as Yoon Bo-min

Born January 23, 1970

Actor: Born in Seoul, South Korea, Lee Jung-eun is best known for her frequent collaborations with the acclaimed director, Bong Joon-ho. Starting with Mother, Lee also appeared in Okja and the Oscar-winning Parasite. For the latter, she received multiple awards for her portrayal of the erratic housekeeper. Lee Jung-eun has also received international attention for her roles on the small screen, with Hell is Other People and the time-travel K-drama Light in Your Eyes marking a turning point in her career. The actress most recently starred alongside Apink’s Jeong Eun-ji in Miss Night and Day.

Character: Yoon Bo-min is a police officer nicknamed “The Hunter” as she is relentless when catching violent criminals. She returns to the violent crimes unit as a police chief and relies heavily on her instincts to solve crimes. As a result, this leads her to investigate the mysterious events surrounding The Frog‘s guesthouse.

The Frog’s Supporting Cast & Characters

Ryu Hyun-kyung as Seo Eun-kyung: Ryu Hyun-kyung made her acting debut at the age of 12 in the SBS K-drama Oxtail Soup (1996). She has since gained attention through movies such as The Servant (2010) and Two Weddings and a Funeral (2012). Her character, Seo Eun-kyung, is Sang-jun’s wife.

Park Ji-hwan as Jong-du: Park Ji-hwan starred in The Outlaws alongside The Frog co-star Yoon Kye-sang, playing the role of Jang Yi-soo. He has also starred in K-dramas such as Our Blues and, most recently, Gyeongseong Creature. He plays the role of Jong-du in The Frog.

Ha Yoon-kyung as Yoon Bo-min (young): Ha Yoon-kyung is best known for her supporting roles in K-dramas such as See You In My 19th Life, Hospital Playlist, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo. She portrays the younger version of Lee Jung-eun’s character, Yoon Bo-min.

Park Chan-yeol as Gu Gi-ho: Park Chan-yeol, better known as Chanyeol, is a rapper for the K-pop group EXO. Chanyeol made his acting debut in 2015’s Salut d’Amour and has appeared in several movies and K-dramas since. The Frog is his first K-drama since Memories of Alhambra.

Roh Yoon-seo as Jeon Ui-seon : Roh Yoon-seo plays Young-ha’s daughter in The Frog. She is a rookie actress who won Best New Actress for her role as Nam Hae-yi in Crash Course in Romance. Her other works include Our Blues and 20th Century Girl.

Kim Sung-ryung as Lee Sung-ran : Former Miss Korea Kim Sung-ryung made her acting debut in 1991’s Who Saw The Dragon’s Claws?. She has most recently starred in the movies Wonderland and My Name is Loh Ki-wan. She plays Young-ha’s wife in The Frog.
