The Game Unveils New Surprises As Kickstarter Nears End

It’s been an incredibly long time since Mystery Science Theater 3000 originally premiered, but the classic love letter to the B-movies of yesteryear is finally getting its very first tabletop game — and it looks fantastic.

A Kickstarter for the new project went live at the start of this month, and has since absolutely smashed its goal. At the time of writing, there are just 35 hours left, and an incredible $363,000 has been raised from a goal of $50,000. Of course, you know what that means: stretch goals.

MST3K: The Game Unveils New Stretch Goals

Stretchy and fun

With the game approaching the final leg of funding, the game’s creator, Cryptozoic Entertainment, has officially confirmed a number of new stretch goals.

For those who might not be aware, here’s a quick explanation on how the game actually works: Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Game supports up to eight players. One takes on the role of the Mad, while the others use Movie Moment cards as prompts for their riffs. Progress is determined by delivering the winning riff and moving further along the Scoreboard of Love.

Cryptozoic writes on Kickstarter:

“We are getting close to the end of the campaign, and we don’t have enough days left to do spotlights for every movie in the game, so we wanted to take today to tell you EVERY title included in the base game and the expansion! Obviously, more will be added as you continue to hit stretch goals (you’ve been doing great, but we have EVEN MORE if you can reach them)!”

If you don’t want to be spoiled and would like to go into the game without knowing the movie titles ahead of time, I’d urge you not to read on. If you want a full rundown on what’s to come, you can head here, but below you’ll find all the latest unlocks so far.

  • $300,000 — The Final Comedown (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)
  • $305,000 — Demon of Paradise (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)
  • $310,000 — Forbidden World (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)
  • $315,000 — Barbarian Queen ((2 movie moment cards)
  • $320,000 — The Brain That Wouldn’t Die (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)
  • $325,000 — Vendetta (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)
  • $330,000 — The Cremators (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)
  • $335,000 — Space Aslan Save Us! (2 movie moment cards)
  • $340,000 — Invisible Mom (2 movie moment cards and 2 riff cards)

But Wait, There’s More!

Get involved while you can

Other pledge options upgrade material components of the game, adding items like a Deluxe Playmat and a Metal Mads Token. Kickstarter rewards are expected to ship in October 2026.

Cryptozoic Entertainment has also officially confirmed one third and final riff contest that you have until 9am PST today to get involved in. If you want to enter, go to this link. Winners will have their Riff card included in the Deluxe game and their name in the rulebook as a result of their contribution. Not too shabby at all.
