The King Is Back as 'Bel-Air' Sets Premiere Date for Fourth and Final Season

The beginning of the end is here for Will Smith’s (Jabari Banks) time in Bel-Air. Peacock has set Monday, November 24, as the premiere date for the fourth and final season of the hit series. If this season follows the previous season’s release format, new episodes will be available weekly. Summer’s over, and it’s senior year for Will, which means it’s time for more fun. “Will tries to balance the fun and excitement of senior year with the expectations that have brought him to this moment. Carlton (Olly Sholotan) tests his own resolve as he deals with the fallout of some very big decisions that could threaten his future. Together, both boys will help each other through this pivotal time in their lives,” reads the official logline for Bel-Air Season 4. It continues, adding,

An unexpected power shift will threaten the brotherhood between Phil (Adrian Holmes) and Geoffrey (Jimmy Akingbola), whose loyalties to the Banks family will be tested. Viv (Cassandra Freeman) struggles with reinventing herself as she looks at motherhood from a different perspective. It’s Ashley’s (Akira Akbar) freshman year in high school, and she’s working through a rebellious phase, but quickly learns that the status quo may no longer serve her. Hilary (Coco Jones) goes on a journey of self-exploration.

The End Arrives for ‘Bel-Air’

“Inspired by Morgan Stevenson Cooper’s viral trailer that reimagined the iconic, culture-defining ‘90s sitcom, Peacock’s successful one-hour series Bel-Air takes a dramatic and raw approach to this world of swagger, style, and aspiration, while exploring Will’s complex journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air through a current lens.” Carla Banks Waddles serves as the showrunner, executive producer, and writer, with Cooper also serving as an executive producer and directing the final two episodes of the series.

Banks recently took to Instagram to say goodbye to the show that has been an active part of his life for the past several years. However, his journey to this point began earlier than that. “It’s safe to say BelAir has been a life long journey for me. From growing up watching the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to becoming the “Prince” myself. No doubt this feels like the biggest goodbye of my life. But these memories…will last lifetimes 👑 I just want to say thank you to all of our fans for the continuous support! And so excited for you all to experience Season 4! Until then… 👑,” he wrote in a post.

Bel-Air Season 4 begins on Monday, November 24. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
