There’s no doubt that The Lincoln Lawyer was one of the best Netflix shows of 2022. Not only was the series a huge hit with fans, bringing in impressive viewership numbers, but the legal drama provided a delightful change of pace for Netflix. We’re ready for The Lincoln Lawyer season 2!
Based on Michael Connelly’s series of books, which also spawned the 2011 movie of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey, The Lincoln Lawyer stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as embattled criminal defense lawyer Mickey Haller.
While the first season covered the events of the second book in the Mickey Haller series (The Brass Verdict), The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 will skip ahead to the fourth book, titled The Fifth Witness. But when can we watch Mickey’s next legal adventure?
Unfortunately, The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 wasn’t included in the complete list of Netflix new release movies and shows for December 2022, but we weren’t expecting the season so soon. As filming continues into next year, here’s when we predict season 2 could release.
Is The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 coming in 2022?
Thankfully, filming for The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 officially commenced in late October 2022, and it’s predicted to wrap sometime in March 2023. The first season was released in May 2022, but the follow-up will clearly miss a spring 2023 release.
Production on the first season wrapped in August 2021, and as previously stated, the episodes later released on Netflix in May 2022. That’s about a nine month period between wrap and release, which we’re hoping isn’t repeated for season 2.
Since season could wrap in March 2023, The Lincoln Lawyer’s next 10 episodes could hit our watch lists by late summer 2023, at the very earliest, or more than likely fall or winter 2023.
Even though that’s a long wait ahead for Mickey’s next case, Netflix shared the exciting announcement of Lana Parrilla and Yaya DeCosta‘s castings in season 2. The pair of new characters will be an amazing addition to the highly anticipated new season.
