Major spoilers from Selling Sunset season 9 are ahead!
You would think a show about selling extravagant million-dollar homes would be all about the properties, but Selling Sunset proves it’s really the personalities, rivalries, and jaw-dropping drama that keep viewers coming back for more.
Netflix just dropped the show’s ninth season on its platform, and boy, does it deliver! Selling Sunset season 9 is bigger, bolder, and more explosive than ever, filled with heated confrontations between cast members and emotional moments that will leave fans gasping.
A main cast member even gets fired from the Oppenheim Group earlier in the season, though anyone could’ve seen this coming with the way she had been clashing with her colleagues and stirring up tension. That cast member is Nicole Young, and her firing mainly had to do with the insensitive comments she made about fellow cast member Chrishell Stause’s deceased parents during a Girlsgiving dinner in the second episode.
While the season in itself was drama-filled, the upcoming reunion special looks to be even more intense. Tensions that have been simmering all season are expected to explode, with cast members confronting one another, airing grievances, and reacting to the shocking events that unfolded. For Stause, the pre-recorded reunion was particularly eye-opening, and it has sadly led to her decision to step away from the show.

Chrishell Stause officially announces exit from Selling Sunset
In a new interview with Variety, Stause spoke about Selling Sunset season 9 and the various events that occurred throughout the installment. From a viewer’s standpoint, this season didn’t appear to be a good one for Stause. Besides the Nicole drama, she also had an issue with new cast member, Sandra Vergara. And we can’t forget the tension she had with her former BFF Emma Hernan. However, Stause told Variety that she “liked” season 9 and that she hasn’t had a “hard” season.
But then she goes on to say that the reunion made her realize it was time to move on from the hit reality show. She explained that the reunion was really “brutal” for her, even stating that it “felt a little bit like a dog pile.” And in that intense moment, she realized that Selling Sunset was no longer the right place for her. However, she made clear to Variety that she still wishes her castmates well and holds no ill will, saying, “I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me.”
Based on Stause’s “dog pile” comment, does it mean that we’ll see her being overwhelmed or targeted by the other cast members during the reunion? It certainly suggests that she felt ganged up on, but why? I guess we’ll have to tune into the Selling Sunset season 9 reunion to find out.
Stause is basically the face of Selling Sunset, and she’s loved by so many fans. It’ll be interesting to see how the franchise goes on without her. I personally can’t see the reality show being as successful. Of course, there are other cast members that people tune in to watch. But Stause is just irreplaceable. Sorry, not sorry.
The Selling Sunset season 9 reunion is set to be released on Netflix on Nov. 5!
