It looks like Landman star Andy Garcia is heading back to the Vegas strip — and straight into trouble with George Clooney’s Danny Ocean once again. Garcia confirmed in a new interview that he’ll reprise his role as slick casino mogul and sometime nemesis Terry Benedict in Ocean’s 14, the upcoming sequel from director Steven Soderbergh. The actor revealed that the film was initially slated to begin production in January 2026 before being delayed to accommodate scheduling conflicts.
While plot details are still being kept under wraps, the return of Benedict all but guarantees that Clooney’s charming thief won’t have an easy time. After all, the one time Terry teamed up with the Ocean crew — in Ocean’s Thirteen — he ended up double-crossing them. Some habits die hard. “We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up,” Clooney told E! News earlier this fall. “It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or ten months, shooting.”
Garcia’s comeback marks the first confirmed casting beyond Clooney himself. The actor hinted that the new film will once again bring together Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and possibly Julia Roberts — a reunion fans have been waiting nearly two decades for. “They’re all still really dear friends,” Clooney added. “So the chance to work together would be fun.”
What Is the Ocean’s Franchise About?
One of the slickest franchises in Hollywood, the original (remake) sees Clooney’s Ocean just released from prison and seeking revenge against Garcia’s Benedict. So, naturally, he gets a crew together and decides to rob Benedict’s three casinos on the night of a huge boxing fight when the vaults will be full.
Ocean’s 12, the most controversial of the series, takes the gang to Europe where they take on Vincent Cassel’s Night Fox, a charming and cunning thief after Benedict hunts the gang down and demands payment of his stolen money back, while the third and — we thought — final outing takes the gang back to Las Vegas to the opening of The Bank, a gaudy eyesore of a casino run by Al Pacino‘s nefarious Willy Bank. Benedict joins in this time to take down the hotelier, as an elaborate con takes place to try and smear the hotel’s reputation while stealing his diamond collection.
Production on Ocean’s 14 will begin in 2026.
