No matter what time of the year it is, we’re always looking for that hidden gem television show to binge-watch. You know, the long-running hit that you managed not to watch when it was first on, allowing for multiple seasons and hundreds of episodes to be ready to add to your watch list. Well, just in time for spring break, Netflix has added an underrated sitcom and it’s already in the Top 10.
The word “underrated” gets throw around a lot when it comes to television show, but in this case, it’s the truth. The CBS comedy series Mike & Molly has made its Netflix debut, and it’s quite a splashy one at that. Following its March 26, 2026 addition to the streaming service, the sitcom has quickly made its way into the Top 10 most popular shows on Netflix ranking in the United States.
Mike & Molly hits the Netflix Top 10
Mike & Molly was originally set to impact Netflix in the United States back in February 2026, but the release was postponed for about one month without explanation. As it turns out, the extra month of waiting only made viewers want to tune in that much more. While the sitcom was a modest, Emmy Award-winning hit while it was on the air, and became a minor syndication smash, it’s getting a second life on streaming.
The sitcom has been available to streaming in the past, including on HBO Max, but it’s never quite seen this kind of immediate lift in visibility. There’s no doubt that those who hadn’t watched the show before saw Melissa McCarthy in the thumbnail and immediately decided to give the show a shot. It also doesn’t hurt that after Mike & Molly ended, Billy Gardell had another CBS sitcom hit with Bob Hearts Abishola.
Mike & Molly’s renewed success comes as the show is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its series finale in May. After six seasons and 127 episodes, the sitcom ended on May 16, 2016. But don’t worry. The show doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. Nothing’s left unresolved, as the show was prepared to say goodbye and gave the characters a proper, emotional goodbye.
While McCarthy’s star powered rose exponentially after her Academy Award nomination for Bridesmaids following its release in May 2011, she remained on the sitcom, which earned her an Emmy Award win for the first season, through its conclusion. McCarthy quickly became a household name and a major movie star, churning out crowd-pleasing comedies and earning another Oscar nod.
Television fans know McCarthy as the lovable Sookie St. James in Gilmore Girls, a show that’s constantly rewatched, but if you haven’t yet watched her dynamic comedic work in Mike & Molly, it’s time to meet Molly Flynn. More reserved at first, Molly soon became a classically wild McCarthy character, drawing by far the biggest laughs out of everyone on the cast.
But she’s not the sole reason to tune into Mike & Molly. The entire cast is stacked with great performers, who deliver the rough-around-the-edges jokes with ease, and the series feels like a throwback to the kinds of sitcoms that were on the airwaves when millennials were kids. After a decade off the air, it’s the perfect time for more TV lovers to discover the show and get their laughs!
