Uma Thurman Once Again Becomes A Kill Bill-Esque Assassin In First Look At Prime Video's New Thriller Pretty Lethal

Uma Thurman again becomes a terrifying adversary in a first look at an upcoming slasher.

Pretty Lethal stars Iris Apatow, Lana Condor, Millicent Simmonds, Avantika, and Maddie Ziegler as five ballerinas, by no means friends with each other, who are on their way to a prestigious dance competition when their bus breaks down, and they are forced to take shelter at an unsettling inn run by Thurman’s Devora Kasimer, a reclusive former ballet prodigy.

There, as they realize what exactly they have happened upon, the young women must work together and utilize their own dance training to survive. Michael Culkin and Lydia Leonard also feature as members of the cast. Moreover, Amazon MGM Studios has now released some first-look images from Pretty Lethal (via Instagram), which will premiere at the SXSW film festival in March 2026.

Check out the movie’s main characters in the images below:

Director Vickey Jewson previously helmed three episodes of The Witcher: Blood Origin, as well as the features Born of War and Close. Additionally, Pretty Lethal is written by Kate Freund (Afterlife, Big Baby), who is also credited as part of the cast. Thurman is, of course, best known for playing assassin Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill, as well as Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction.

But more recently, Thurman has appeared in Dexter: Resurrection, The Old Guard 2, The King of Kings, and Red, White & Royal Blue. Whether Pretty Lethal joins the list of Uma Thurman’s best movies remains to be seen, but she will certainly rise to the occasion of this horror antagonist role. Currently, Pretty Lethal and Red, White & Royal Wedding are Thurman’s only confirmed upcoming projects.

Pretty Lethal also joins the list of intriguing new horror movies coming out in 2026. Damian McCarthy’s Hokum will also be premiering at SXSW; also, Leviticus, acquired by Neon out of the Sundance Film Festival, is now making its next stop on the festival circuit. Meanwhile, more widely-advertised theatrical releases coming to satisfy fans of the genre include They Will Kill You, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and The Bride!

But anyone particularly intrigued by the combat capabilities of a ballerina’s skillset will have to see Pretty Lethal, as Amazon teases the main characters “[weaponizing] years of brutal training, turning grace, discipline, and even pointe shoes into tools for survival.” And, importantly, audiences will not have to wait too long before Pretty Lethal is available to watch at home.

Following its premiere at SXSW, Pretty Lethal starring Uma Thurman will release on Prime Video on March 26, 2026.
