Battlefield 6 has just concluded its record-setting open beta, which offered a variety of rewards to participants to be redeemed upon the game’s full launch in October. A set of beta-exclusive challenges let players earn an assortment of cosmetic items that can be equipped in the full game. Between now and BF6‘s release on October 10, more rewards can be earned – but you’ll have to boot up Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield 6‘s predecessor is frequently derided, but is surprisingly still receiving content on the eve of the series’ next entry. In an attempt to keep players engaged with the franchise for the next couple of months, Battlefield 2042 is hosting a brand-new event with a slate of content additions. Those willing to jump back into 2042 will be able to unlock even more rewards for Battlefield 6, which will be available upon launch.
Iwo Jima Returns In Battlefield 2042’s Road To BF6 Event
Plus New Weapons & Vehicles
From August 18 to October 7, Battlefield 2042 is playing host to the Road to Battlefield 6 event. Of special note is a new map the event is bringing to 2042: a new version of Iwo Jima. The famed, bloody battle from World War 2 was first adapted by the series’ first entry, Battlefield 1942, and has since appeared in three other games, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 1943, and Battlefield 5.
The update for the Road to Battlefield 6 event also brings two new weapons to BF2042. First is the KFS2000, a bullpup assault rifle. The second is the Lynx, an anti-material sniper rifle available immediately to BF6 beta participants, but unlockable for all players. There are also two legacy vehicles pulled out of the Portal vault, the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot, both jets.
How To Earn Battlefield 6 Rewards By Playing BF2042
Free Event Battle Pass
The Road to Battlefield 6 event is centered around a new, free battle pass. It has 60 tiers in total, and is primarily comprised of cosmetics for Battlefield 2042 that are based on previous entries in the series: Battlefield 1, 5, Bad Company 2, 3, and 4. It also contains 30 rewards for Battlefield 6, spread across six of its tiers. In order to earn every BF6 reward in 2042, you have to unlock tiers 8, 19, 30, 40, 49, and 60, completing the entire free battle pass.
These rewards will be tied to your EA account, and will be available to equip in the full version of Battlefield 6 upon the game’s launch on October 10. All rewards must be earned by the end of the Road to Battlefield 6 event on October 7. EA and Battlefield Studios are clearly going all in on Battlefield 6, but 2042 is getting new content right up until the end, and this last event appears to be a big celebration of the series’ history.
