‘Virgin River’ Season 7 Trailer Signals a Major Shift for Netflix’s Cozy Western

After more than a year away, audiences are finally returning to Virgin River today courtesy of a brand-new trailer. With the countdown now underway for the title’s seventh season premiere on March 12, Netflix has unveiled a first look at the drama that’s set to go down when fans return to the titular town and reconnect with their favorite characters. Plenty of questions were left up in the air when we last left off with the personalities who call the small Northern California town home, and the trailer tees up some answers that are just one month away while also unveiling plenty of more questions. With favorites like Alexandra Breckenridge (My Secret Santa) and Martin Henderson (Grey’s Anatomy) taking center stage, the show is officially back with a dramatic vengeance that has built its legacy over the last several years.

Baby fever has officially grabbed hold of Mel (Breckenridge) and Jack (Henderson) at the top of the Virgin River Season 7 trailer, as we learn that the pair will soon be welcoming a bundle of joy into their lives. While the title’s primary couple is prepping for parenthood, other members of the community are struggling to keep their heads above water. We hear from Tim Matheson’s Doc Mullins, who is trying to regain the trust of his patients with a helpful pep talk from his wife, Hope (Annette O’Toole). At the same time, the beloved medical man is concerned that his beloved partner might have eyes for someone else, while other couples face a bumpy road forward. Finally, just when they thought they had it all figured out, Mel and Jack are faced with difficult news that threatens to flip their adoption on its head.

Since 2019, Netflix has been bringing audiences back season after season for its cozy, comfort-giving, soap-like series, Virgin River. Adapted from the novel series first penned by Robyn Carr, the title has been a massive success for the streamer, driving up viewership numbers from one installment to the next. Packed with plenty of small-town drama, the series has proven to be just the thing that folks need for that perfect weekend binge. Despite its large break between the sixth and seventh seasons, the fanbase for Virgin River is expected to turn up for its return when all 10 episodes hit Netflix on March 10.
