Another true crime documentary is coming to Netflix this week, this time about a 30-year-long mystery regarding the identity of Sharon Marshall and her disappearance. Girl in the Picture is directed by Skye Borgman, who previously directed Abducted in Plain Sight for Netflix and Dead Asleep at Hulu.
Sharon Marshall was abducted by her father Franklin Lloyd as a child. he carted her all over the country, even taking her to strip clubs to earn money for him. It’s a heartbreaking and chilling tale that will be explored in-depth in the documentary set to release this Friday, July 6.
Parts of the documentary are taken from the non-fiction books Finding Sharon and A Beautiful Child written by the journalist Matt Birkbeck, who also serves as an executive producer on the doc. Birkbeck is known for his work on the Robert Durst case. Emmy-winning Jimmy Fox is also credited as a producer on the project.

Those living on the west coast can start watching as early as midnight, while those on central time will need to wait until 2 a.m. CT and east coast watchers until 3 a.m. ET.
