Every fan of Marvel Rivals needs to see Wolverine‘s new look, as Logan dons a retro costume destined to make a splash in the game. The PVP Shooter is known for giving its heroes strikingly unique looks, with Logan appearing in his iconic yellow and blue with a stocky build and pronounced shoulders.
That’s what makes Wolverine’s new ‘From the Chaos’ variant cover costume so perfect for the game. The suit is an awesome retro redesign from Alessandro Cappuccio, using Logan’s traditional colors but with no sleeves and a deep-v neckline. The boots and shoulders are flared, enhancing Logan’s squat build in a similar way to the game, which includes various skins based on the hero’s comic appearances. Will this suit be next?
Marvel’s new covers are celebrating Venom’s new look, where the symbiote steals Spider-Man’s color scheme. That suit is itself a celebration of Venom’s first appearance as Spider-Man’s black costume, with various heroes appearing with startling new looks from Marvel’s stable of up-and-coming Stormbreaker artists. The cover above will appear on Spider-Man & Wolverine #7, coming November 12.
This Is the Second New Wolverine Costume That Needs to Appear in Marvel Rivals
The ‘From the Chaos’ cover isn’t the only one which seems destined for Marvel Rivals greatness. Recently, Screen Rant covered Wolverine’s new ‘Street-verse’ costume cover from InHyuk Lee. Appearing on select issues of The Last Wolverine #2 – in stores November 19 – this suit is inspired by Japanese techwear. Like the ‘From the Chaos’ art, there’s a focus on bulking up Logan’s upper body and shoulders, making it another great choice to appear in Marvel Rivals.
Comic looks already used in Marvel Rivals include Logan’s cybernetic helmet as Weapon X, his disguise as Patch when operating in the seedy city of Madripoor, and his fiery transformation as the bearer of the Phoenix Force. Further skins are planned in the future, and may draw from the Street-Verse and From the Chaos covers, with similar cover art also appearing in games including Marvel Snap.
As someone who’s over a century in age and often travels the world, Logan has had more different looks and identities than most heroes. As a character known for his short stature, the focus on a bulky upper body helps emphasize Wolverine’s nature as a scrappy combatant who never says die. While these new designs haven’t yet appeared in comic stories, Marvel is more and more using variant covers to explore potential canon additions, from Captain Marvel’s latest costume to the characters of its New Champions series.
Here’s hoping that Wolverine‘s new Street-Verse and From the Chaos suits get the love they deserve from fans, as the more popular they are in their original forms, the higher the chances that they’ll make the jump to other media, including Marvel Rivals.
Spider-Man & Wolverine #7 is coming November 12 from Marvel Comics, followed by The Last Wolverine #2 on November 19.
