They have both gone through recent relationship woes.
And now Julie Bishop has joined forces with fellow heartbroken socialite Ellie Aitken.
The pair were photographed together at a glamourous event held on behalf of the Sydney Dance Company on the weekend.

In a post shared by the high-profile socialite, the pair were seen dressed to the nines while Ms Bishop, 66, rested her arm around Ms Aitken’s shoulder.
Ms Aitken, 42, dazzled in a black long-sleeved mini dress, accesorising with black patent heels and a gorgeous jewelled necklace.
‘What a wonderful night supporting the phenomenal @sydneydanceco,’ Ms Aitken captioned the photo.
Ms Bishop, for her part, also shared intimate moments from the event.
The former Australian foreign minister posted several snaps from the red carpet, looking elegant in a grey fitted dress and pearl drop earrings.

‘Glittering evening showcasing the best of Australian contemporary dance @sydneydanceco,’ she wrote.
The pair’s sighting comes after Ms Aitken found herself at the centre of a high-profile split in December after it emerged her husband of 20 years was having an affair with her best friend.
Funds manager Charlie Aitken, 48, announced he’d separated from Ms Aitken and moved on with her younger friend Hollie Nasser.
The move sent shockwaves through their tight-knit eastern suburbs circles, particularly since Ms Nasser, 36, was also married to Mr Aitken’s business partner, Christopher Nasser.

‘The truth is that despite the support of friends and family I have not coped well with the deeply hurtful lies, gossip and innuendo that has surrounded the breakdown of my relationship,’ Ms Aitken said in a statement in early December.
She announced she would be ‘taking a break from social media’ and public life while she and her family adjusted to the separation and her estranged husband’s new relationship.
‘I had attempted to put on a brave face and tried to manage my feelings and well-being despite the fact I have not had any control over the reasons for my sorrow,’ she added.
Ms Aitken later shared a text message she’d received from Ms Nasser on Instagram, in which her former friend accused her of ‘playing the victim’ and blamed her for ‘ruining her marriage’.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the time, a longtime friend revealed: ‘Ellie is not coping well at all. She’s broken. Her whole life has just crumbled around her.’
According to The Daily Telegraph, Ms Aitken is now in a much better place, and has even been spending time with her ex-husband for the sake of their two children.
‘People really admire how gracious she has been throughout this ordeal. She’s doing much better and definitely has her groove back,’ a source said.
Ms Nasser has since split from the investment banker.

Meanwhile, Ms Bishop’s ex-lover David Panton dated from 2014 until July this year, when Mr Panton, a property developer, abruptly broke up with Ms Bishop over dinner at a restaurant in Circular Quay.
The jet-setting couple had attended a private engagement with Prince Charles, now King Charles III, in London just a week earlier.
The former deputy leader of the Liberal Party was reportedly blindsided by the split, and Mr Panton was later romantically linked to a woman from the Northern Beaches.
Conspicuous by his absence was Ms Bishop’s ex-lover David Panton, who used to be her ‘handbag’ at every celebrity party or red carpet event she would attend. The pair (pictured with James Packer in December 2015) dated from 2014 until July this year

He was largely unknown when he first appeared with Ms Bishop at the 2014 Melbourne Cup, a year after the prime minister Tony Abbott appointed her minister for foreign affairs.
They had been introduced by Ms Bishop’s close friend and retired Liberal politician Bruce Baird and shared an interest in fitness and health.
A seemingly never-ending round of glamorous outings followed – including repeated invitations to marquees at Flemington Racecourse, opening nights, film premieres and fashion shows.
