Mighty Ducks alum Shaun Weiss has revealed Tylor Chase, the former Nickelodeon star who is now experiencing homelessness, has returned to the streets after he was placed in a 72-hour involuntary psychiatric hold last week.

The former Nickelodeon actor, 36, was taken to the hospital last week after Jacob ‘Jake’ Harris – an LA-based influencer and businessman who has been helping Chase – contacted a crisis center.

Now Weiss has revealed to TMZ that Chase was found again on the streets after he was released from the psychiatric hold.

He underwent an evaluation by a crisis team after he was found and was allegedly smoking meth during the assessment.

‘They were supposed to hold him and then transport him to a detox facility that we had arranged. Instead, they let him out without contacting any of us,’ he told the publication.

Weiss said that Harris found Chase on the streets late at night last week in Riverside and got ahold of the crisis team again.

The crisis team evaluated Chase and determined once again he was a danger to himself.

Weiss says he was told that Chase was ‘smoking meth during the evaluation with no shoes or jacket in the freezing cold’. The crisis team ultimately did not take him in.

Now Weiss is uncertain how to proceed, however he has been in touch with several executive members of the Screen Actors Guild with the hopes of potentially getting help from a political representative.

Weiss is also appealing to the county of Riverside for help.

Additionally, Weiss says money given by well-intentioned fans to Chase is not helpful in his recovery.

It wasn’t long ago that Weiss was also homeless and struggling with addiction.

Similar to Chase, he got professional help after a 2020 video showed him at the lowest point of his substance abuse battle.

Chase, who played Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide in the 2000s, was captured in a recent social media video after onlookers recognised the former actor sleeping rough.

The heartbreaking video of Chase sparked widespread sadness online and, once Chase’s former co-stars heard about it, they expressed their shock – with Daniel Curtis Lee even checking him into a hotel.

Police previously told the Daily Mail that Chase had been ‘cordial and cooperative’ with them, but mentioned to TMZ that Chase had also consistently declined their shelter, drug or alcohol treatment or mental health services.

Harris has been helping the former actor at the instruction of Chase’s father, and last week he told The Daily Mail he was able to get him some help.

‘I was able to finally get ahold of a crisis center that would come out and do a same-day evaluation,’ Harris told the Daily Mail on Christmas Day. ‘They determined he needed immediate help and brought him to a local hospital for 72-hour treatment.’

Harris added: ‘He’s in good care now. And the future is looking bright. He just needed someone to actually do something to help.’

Harris, for his part, became involved in spearheading Chase’s recovery because he is an acquaintance of Weiss.

Weiss also told the Daily Mail via his representative: ‘Tylor has been taken to a facility by a mental health crisis team. He is under the care of Riverside county officials.’

‘The public outpouring of support came at a very crucial time. He is not well. He requires care beyond the scope of standard detox facilities. He needs weeks to stabilize,’ Weiss added.

‘From the bottom of my heart, we are truly grateful for the tips and additional aid everyone has offered, but now is a time to respect Tylor’s privacy.

‘He has all the resources necessary and we should pray that he’s able to recover.’

Chase was pictured on a rainy Christmas Eve as a fan gave him warm clothes to help brave the elements — as well as some food — before saying a prayer for the former child star.

Chase appeared to thank the people for helping him out.

The one-time child star was seen wearing a red coat over a black hooded sweatshirt with gray pants and black Nike sneakers on the wet winter day.

In video of the encounter, the man who brought the coat to Chase at first draped it over him, before awkwardly helping the former actor pull his arms through the sleeves.

When the fan asked if he could pray for Chase, the former actor briefly beamed and said, ‘I appreciate that!’

As Chase hunched forward, the man placed his hands on his shoulder and back and prayed for God to ‘release the demonic activity’ and to ‘take him out of the darkness.’
