It comes after Corey met Danny who unexpectedly hit the jacketpot as he brought his great-grandfather’s knuckle knife from the WWII era into the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.
The series chronicles the everyday of the three-generation Harrison family business as they try to determine the value and story behind the wild objects that walk through the door, and this time was no different.
Danny explained to Corey that the knife was his great-grandfather’s, and that according to his own father, his great grandpa ‘massacred’ about 3,000 people with the knife.
According to the show, knuckle knives, like the one that Danny brought in to the shop, were typically designed for ‘close quarters combat.’
He explained that the knife, which had a nine-notch brass knuckle, was something that he had for about 15 to 20 years.
‘My asking price is $500,’ he said to the camera.

‘If I end up selling the knuckle knife, I’ll probably just use the money to pay some bills,’ Danny continued.
Once Corey took a look at the knife, which was in good condition, he shared that he’s seen similar knives go for a large amount of money, although they’re not too uncommon.
At first, Corey wasn’t too sure he would be able to get Danny even close to the $500 mark – but once he brought in his antique military weapons expert, Alex Cranmer, come in to do a price check on the knife, they were all shocked by his discovery.
Alex revealed that the knife was worth much more than $500, as he valued it at $10,000 instead.
‘What this is, obviously it’s a knuckle knife,’ Alex explained to Danny and Corey.
‘During WWII, there was a cottage industry in the United States of custom fighting knives, and they came in all variations, and because it was a cottage industry and they were made in small machine shops or basements, very few numbers of these were ever produced, and they were produced regionally,’ he continued.
The expert explained that many G.I.’s in WWII were provided knives when going overseas, but you could also bring your own.
Alex identified the weapon as an M.H. Cole knuckle knife.
‘The guy who made this was a police officer in Birmingham, Alabama, during WWII. M.H. Cole, he had some kind of medical condition that prevented him from going overseas, and his way of contributing to the war effort was to make custom fighting knives,’ Alex said.
Danny said that his grandfather was from Alabama, which made Alex think that he must have known M.H. Cole personally and requested a custom knife from him.
What’s even better is that Cole only made around 300 of the knives in total – and only the first 50 to 75 had nine points, like the one Danny brought in.
‘This is one of the most rare and collectible fighting knives in existence,’ the expert said, describing the model as a ‘holy grail’ for collectors.
‘I think it’s worth $10,000, maybe even more at the right auction,’ he concluded.
However, Danny didn’t walk home with that exact amount in his pocket.
After everything was said and done, he got $5,000 from Corey, and it looks like he might be able to pay his bills with even a little money leftover from his original asking price.
So far, the show has seen 23 seasons on The History Channel.
