A private investigator has revealed the seemingly innocuous sign that your partner could be cheating on you.
The topic of cheating has been widely discussed in recent weeks, after former tech CEO Andy Byron and HR exec Kristin Cabot were exposed for having an affair after the kiss cam at a Coldplay concert caught them canoodling.
But there is an easier way to see if your partner could be being unfaithful, Paul Jones from ARF Private Investigators, told the Sun.
He said that some people may go to extreme lengths to conceal their extramarital activity, others opt for a more lowkey option.
According to Paul, sneaky cheaters are using a simple code, which may seem innocuous.
While people often think communication between two people who are having an affair will include steamy photos, secret phone calls, and suspicious letters.
However, many modern cheats are using a much more innocent seeming method – emojis.
Paul told the Sun: ‘Over the past year we’ve seen an increase in people using everyday symbols as a way to communicate without getting caught.’

He added that while using emojis to communicate might look innocent on the surface, there is usually a ‘deeper meaning’ – notably if there is a flurry of messages featuring the small images.
Paul said the most commonly used emojis include the croissant (which means ‘meet me for breakfast’).
Other symbols that could be used include the letter, signifying ‘text me when you’re free’ or the plate of spaghetti, which is a way of asking someone to have dinner.
Meanwhile, the chili emoji signifies flirtation or intimacy, the ‘see no evil’ monkey represents guilt or secrecy, and a padlock is a sign of a private or locked conversation.
For those willing to snoop on their partner’s mobile, it’s possible to find the most used emoji.
This can be done by pressing the emoji icon on the keyboard while typing out a message.
If the symbols often used by cheats are the person’s most commonly used ones, it could be a indication that the person is being unfaithful.
Paul said that if they are just just once or twice, they ‘don’t mean much’.

However, if they appear frequently in chats with the same person, that could be more significant.
The private investigator suggested people who are concerned their partner is cheating should ‘start with their gut’ when it comes to trying to find out.
He listed a few behaviours that are worth looking out for.
‘If your partner suddenly starts hiding their phone, keeping conversations short, or you notice new contacts with strange names or emojis, that’s when you should start asking questions,’ he said.
