The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking Jacob McGurn, a man considered armed and dangerous, last seen in Gilead, Maine.
Charges Against McGurn
McGurn is wanted on a slew of charges, which include reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing, domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, and driving to endanger. According to Maine’s law, criminal threatening charges constitute making threats of violence towards others, while terrorizing involves causing someone to fear bodily injury or death.
The Incident on Gilead Road
Officials say deputies responded to reports of a weapons offense on Gilead Road in Gilead Thursday morning. During their investigation, officials say deputies learned that McGurn arrived at the residence which resulted in a physical confrontation between him and another man. Officials say during that confrontation, several shots were fired in the victim’s direction. Both crime scenes were processed and several firearms were seized.
