Puka Nacua #12 of the Los Angeles Rams warms up before a game against the Detroit Lions.

Puka Nacua draws plenty of attention, both on and off the field, and the Los Angeles Rams star has certainly done the latter with his recent comments.

Nacua caused a stir during the season with comments and actions from a live stream with Adin Ross. More recently, Nacua was in the spotlight amid his plans to go skydiving with actress Sydney Sweeney.

This time, Nacua’s remarks hit far closer to home.

Nacua’s latest head-turning remarks came during a podcast appearance with Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers, one of the Rams’ NFC West rivals.

While discussing the rivalry between their two teams and their historic match in Australia next season, Nacua offered damning comments. The Rams will lose a home game as a result of the landmark scheduling development.

Nacua is not a fan of the game, but not because LA will be the “home” team in name only.

“Love it,” Nacua told Warner about the neutral site aspect on the “Real Ones: The League” podcast on February 6. “Honestly, at SoFi, there’s not too many home games.

Warner joked back that it was “honestly a blow” to the 49ers, with fans noting the accuracy of the linebacker’s remarks in the comment section of a post from Coach Yac on X by sharing images of the arena packed with spectators, most of whom were adorned in red.

Coach Yac framed it as “Nacua takes shot at Rams fans.”

It was certainly a harsh dose of reality about the environment at the Rams’ home from one of the team’s biggest stars.

Notably, the Rams ranked sixth in attendance during the 2025 regular season, per Pro Football Reference. SoFi Stadium is 13th in capacity, per Stadiums of Pro Football. However, that only benefits the Rams if their fans fill the seats.

Fans noted others will sell their tickets, often to opposing bases.

Others remarked on how the absence of a team for so many years led to a dispersion of fandom, while the inverse may also be true, with the LA Chargers also occupying SoFi.

The Rams are 11th with a 49-33 home record since the start of the 2016 season, per Statmuse. They are notably in the same slot over the past five seasons, which have come with the Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay quarterback-head coach combo.

Nacua had plenty to say about his Rams teammates, both current and past. He spoke glowingly about Stafford, both for the QB’s “toughness” and “grit,” but also for the lessons of watching an experienced father as a new one himself.

Nacua noted Stafford’s “beautiful” moment, accepting his MVP award with his four daughters on stage with him, proved a moment that athletes “dream” about is “much bigger than football.”

Nacua cited Stafford and Davante Adams’ addition for the Rams’ top-ranked offense.

Then there was Nacua’s message for former Rams teammate and fellow wideout Cooper Kupp, now a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Asked whether he wanted to share a message for anyone playing the Super Bowl, Nacua delved into lofty praise for the ex-Rams star.

Nacua called Kupp the “one and only,” adding “the man, the myth, the legend,” and “the kid from Yakima.”

But the heart of his message was “I love you so much.”

“I’m excited to watch you out there. Do your thing, man. You deserve this moment more than anybody. It’s an exciting journey that you’ve been on with your team. Going all the way to the NFC Championship and getting a chance to play against you, I know you’ve been there before. You’ve been to the big dance. You understand what it takes, the mental capacity that it takes, and the physical capacity that it takes. And, hey, I hope you have the opportunity to hoist that trophy up,” Nacua said.

“You have about a couple days to have that parade, the ceremony, and I’ll see you back in LA, and we’re getting right back to it. So, hurry up.”
