The Irish actor, 33, showed off a much fuller pout as he posed for photos in front of the Tower Bridge in London before Burberry's quintessentially British presentation

Barry Keoghan has sparked cosmetic surgery speculation after the star was photographed front row at London Fashion Week on Sunday.

The Irish actor, 33, showed off a much fuller pout as he posed for photos in front of the Tower Bridge in London before Burberry’s quintessentially British presentation.

Barry, who is set to play Ringo Starr in the upcoming Beatles biopic, looked the part in a mariner cap pulled over his grown-out locks as he joined Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, and rapper Skepta for the show.

The Saltburn actor’s fans later suggested he looked dramatically different, with X users noting his chiselled jawline, plumper lips, and a much more defined cupid’s bow.

Now, a cosmetic surgeon has revealed that Barry’s new look could be the result of using lip fillers amid a ‘noticeable rise’ in men exploring ‘undetectable injectables’.

While stars like Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, and Courtney Cox have openly discussed using lip fillers, leading men in the industry rarely discuss aesthetic treatments.

However, it has been suggested that celebrities like Channing Tatum, Zac Efron, Brad Pitt, and Henry Cavill have used dermal fillers to make their lips more proportionate and symmetrical.

‘Barry Keoghan’s recent appearance has definitely sparked conversation around his lips looking fuller, and whether that is down to treatment, lighting, or natural variation remains to be seen,’ said Dr Barbara Kubicka, the founder of ClinicBe.

‘What is important here is that it reflects how closely male facial changes are now noticed and discussed. Moments like this mirror what we see in clinic, where men are increasingly open to subtle lip enhancement that prioritises balance rather than obvious volume.’

A recent UK-based study revealed that one in six men has considered dermal filler treatment, and 21 per cent of respondents said they are likely to opt for these ‘tweakments’ in the future.

‘Social media and the constant presence of high definition cameras have certainly played a role, but so has a broader change in how men view self-care,’ Dr Kubicka said.

‘Treatments are increasingly seen in the same space as skincare, dental work or hair treatments rather than something dramatic or image driven,’ she added.

It follows a slow but consistent rise in the number of men opting for cosmetic procedures since 2017, or the year of the ‘macho mouth’.

The look is characterised by a ‘proud’ lower lip or a natural smirk as clients brought in ‘wish pictures’ of Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum, Harry Styles, and Henry Cavill, said Florida-based surgeon Dr Rian Maercks.

‘It all started this year,’ he told the Daily Mail at the time. ‘In a matter of months, male lip fillers became one of the most popular procedures in the clinic.’

At the time, Dr Maercks said the trend follows the advent of selfies, adding: ‘Social media, dating apps, selfie culture… that culture has a big part of it.

‘Even our politicians embody and celebrate narcissism – we have never been more encouraged to analyse our facial features. A lot of men have started to identify lips with authority and confidence.

Fast forward to 2026, when more famous men are going under the knife to keep up with their red carpet appearances.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported a four per cent rise in male surgeries since 2022 as 1.6 million cosmetic procedures were performed on men last year.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr Jamie Aphlett said: ‘One of the most requested treatments among men is jawline enhancement using dermal fillers.

‘A sharp, defined jawline has become a hallmark of masculinity, with celebrities like Henry Cavill and Shawn Mendes often cited as reference points in my clinic.

‘In recent years, there has also been a growing demand for subtle lip enhancements, a trend that might surprise many.

‘Contrary to the stereotype of exaggerated lips, men often opt for slight tweaks to correct asymmetry or add hydration to create a balanced, natural look.’

Experts have noted a ‘shift in attitude’ towards self-care, but men approach tweakments differently than women.

When it comes to lip fillers, for instance, most men are not looking for bigger lips; instead, they are aiming for balance, hydration, and subtle structure that feels masculine yet natural, said Dr Kubicka.

Aesthetics doctor, Dr Paul Banwell, added: ‘In men particularly, the lip is rarely an isolated concern, and patients may feel that the lips look thinner or less defined, but this is often part of wider changes involving skin quality, dental show, jawline support and perioral ageing.

‘Focusing on one feature in isolation can sometimes lead to imbalance, which is why a full facial assessment is always important.

Although the cultural stigma around men undergoing cosmetic surgery has decreased significantly since 2017, Dr Jamie said the work is not over yet.

He said: ‘The outdated perception that aesthetic treatments are only for women is gradually shifting, but more awareness is needed to make men feel comfortable seeking treatments without judgement.’

‘As social media continues to highlight male self-care and aesthetics, we’ll likely see even more men embracing injectables as part of their grooming routine.’

As more men opt for lip fillers, it appears women are going the other way after The Kardashians star, Kylie, appears to have dissolved her fillers.

During the BAFTA awards ceremony, fans were quick to note that she looks much more like her ‘old self’ again, after plumping up her lips in her late teens and early 20s.

Other famous faces, including Molly Mae Hague, Kristin Davis and Wicked star Ariana have also admitted to dissolving their filler as a more natural look comes back into fashion.
