The Seattle Seahawks have announced historic franchise news following their win over the Carolina Panthers.
The numbers keep getting better for the Seattle Seahawks, who closed out yet another victory on Sunday, December 28, this time over the Carolina Panthers with a 27-10 final score. For Seattle, the win gives them a 13-3 record for the season and keeps them in first place in the NFC and NFC West. They have a strong lead and will clinch the division if the Rams lose or tie in their Week 17 showdowns.
It’s fun to win, and it’s even more fun to win and make history. It’s special to see what Seahawks second-year head coach Mike Macdonald has done with this team since getting hired and heading to Seattle in January 2024. While his first season was a bit rocky, this year, it’s been all roses, and a significant part of that was signing quarterback Sam Darnold from the Minnesota Vikings.
Now, following the Seahawks’ win over the Panthers, the franchise has announced that this team has notched franchise history.
Seattle Seahawks Make History Against Carolina Panthers
On Sunday, December 28, the Seattle Seahawks announced that they just hit a new franchise record. This team has scored 470 points in one season, the most points scored in a single season be the Seahawks.
“Still one more game to go also,” one commenter on social media stated. “AJ Barner is emerging as one of the best tight ends that we have had in a very long time,” another said.

Carolina Panthers Talk Loss to Seattle Seahawks
After the Panthers fell to the Seahawks, head coach Dave Canales gave props and credit to the Seahawks for their talent.
First and foremost, got to give a lot of credit to the Seahawks, coming out here, playing tough all day, coming up with some big conversions throughout the day,” he said. “And then from there I just got to talk about our defense and the amazing game they played to give us opportunities offensively. We didn’t do anything with those.”
He added, “Part of that was just the Seahawks having great scheme playing together, making things difficult on us, but we made mistakes. We made mistakes on the offensive side and when you play a good team like this, you have to be able to take advantage. You have to do things right and that’s what we have to look at in front of us there.”
He also opened up about Seattle’s discipline, stating, “they did a great job having discipline, staying deep on a lot of our concepts.”
“I think what you saw is a lot of balls go to the check-downs in different ways. They rallied up and tackled us really well,” Canalas said. “We didn’t end up getting a lot of yards out of some of those check-downs, but when they play it right and the defense plays from depth and they stay on top and disciplined.”
He continued, “It wasn’t for a lack of trying. We called some passes to try to go down the field, and they did a great job of making the ball get to the check-down and rallied up and made some tackles.”
