Seattle Opens Up as Favorite

The Seattle Seahawks are the betting favorite to win the 2026 Super Bowl, and they opened as a small favorite at home against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game at Lumen Field.

According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Seattle opened as a 2.5-point favorite over the Rams at DraftKings, with the market likely reflecting both home field and a rest edge after the Seahawks played Saturday and were able to pull starters early, while the Rams went to overtime in Chicago after playing the week before in Charlotte.

The Seahawks are 2.5-point favorites, per DraftKings. I imagine that factors their rest advantage in addition to home-field advantage. They played Saturday at home, after a bye, and pulled starters early. The Rams went to OT tonight in Chicago after playing in Charlotte last week

Key details at a glance

Seahawks Open as Favorites vs. Rams After Split Season Series

Henderson noted the Rams and Seahawks split their two regular-season meetings, setting up a rubber match with a Super Bowl trip on the line.

Los Angeles won the first matchup 21-19 at SoFi in Week 11, and Seattle answered with a 38-37 overtime win in Seattle in Week 16, making the NFC Championship the third meeting, this time at Lumen Field.

The early spread is tight, but the scheduling spot matters. Henderson wrote that Seattle’s opener at -2.5 likely bakes in the Seahawks’ rest advantage — plus home-field — after the Rams’ taxing path to get here.

Seahawks Super Bowl Odds Have Seattle as the Team to Beat

In an Oddschecker release shared with Heavy, Seattle is listed as the Super Bowl favorite at +150 (40% implied win probability), ahead of the Rams at +200 (33%), the Patriots at +250 (29%), and the Broncos at +1000 (9%).

Oddschecker spokesman Chris Rogers stated, “With the final four decided, bettors have been having their say on who will win the 2026 Super Bowl. Seattle Seahawks were the most backed team over the last 4 hours with 39% anticipating a historic second Super Bowl crown for Mike Macdonald’s team. The Seahawks are the bookmaker’s favourites to win the Super Bowl at +150.”

Oddschecker also shared a snapshot of recent betting interest over a four-hour window, with 39% of bets backing Seattle, followed by Denver (21%), New England (21%), and Los Angeles (18%).

What It Means for Seattle Heading Into Sunday

Two things can be true at once: the Seahawks can be a Super Bowl favorite in the futures market, and still be in for a one-score type of fight against a divisional opponent they know extremely well.

That’s what makes this matchup so high-pressure for Seattle. The Rams have already proved they can win a tight game against the Seahawks, and the Seahawks have already shown they can survive a track meet — even after falling behind — against the same opponent.

From a practical standpoint, the early -2.5 number is basically the market saying Seattle is slightly better on a neutral field, then nudged up by home field and rest. And it sets up the simplest question of the week: can the Seahawks turn that small edge into a trip to Super Bowl LX?

Schedule, Stakes, and What Happens Next

The Seahawks will host the Rams in the NFC Championship on Jan. 25. The winner goes to the Super BOwl.

If the line holds around a field goal or less, expect the conversation all week to center on a few repeatable themes: Seattle’s rest advantage, the volatility of a third divisional meeting, and whether either team can finally separate in a matchup that’s already delivered two close finishes.
