Jelly Roll revealed his dramatic clean cut look after shaving his face for the first time in ten years.
The country star took to Instagram Thursday to debut the transformation, and joked that the new look makes him resemble a “Ninja Turtle.”
“I thought my chin went at least a half inch longer than it actually did, but f—k, I didn’t know. It was a failed science experiment y’all.”
Despite the jokes, he also opened up about the more emotional reason why he chose to finally shave off his facial hair after a decade.
“One of the reasons I even started growing a beard was because I was so obese. It was just easier to cover up what was happening here,” he explained in the video, pointing at his neck.
The “Wild Ones” hitmaker has lost over 200 pounds over the past three years so he no longer feels the need to hide behind the beard.
Jelly Roll — born Jason Bradley Deford — went on to tearfully share his “gratitude” for earning three nominations for the 2026 Grammys, which were announced earlier this month.
His fans in the comments congratulated him on the nominations and also hyped up his freshly shaven look.
“You look amazing man. Congrats. You deserve everything you have worked so hard for,” one fan penned.
“Congrats! And you look fantastic. I love the new look,” another added.
“🤯 I wouldn’t have recognized you had it not been the tats! Good for you!” a fan praised.
Last week, his wife, Bunnie Xo, also cheered him on before he revealed his shaved face to the world saying, “Because now that he’s so skinny — look at that freaking jawline — we wanna see that jawline, right, ladies?”
The musician publicly re-embarked on his fitness journey in December 2022 and has shared milestones with his fans over the years.
Last year, he celebrated his 100-pound weight loss while on tour and promised his fans they wouldn’t be able to recognize him by 2025.
Back in September, he celebrated losing 200 pounds by treating himself to a designer wardrobe.
“I can fit in Louis Vuitton now. Pray for my bank account,” he playfully captioned some snaps, showing off his impressive weight loss.
