Socialite Patty Raynes was planning to return to NYC before death

Late socialite Patty Raynes was eager to get back to her “highly social” life in New York City before her housekeeper discovered her lifeless body in her Wellington, Fla., home on Thursday.

Raynes’ best friend, Anna Rothschild, told Page Six that she last texted with Raynes on Monday, and Raynes’ final text to her read: “Coming home the 28th, let’s do so much fun stuff!”

But despite looking forward to a good time, “she wasn’t going out the past few days,” Rothschild said of Raynes.

“She wasn’t well. We talk[ed] every day. I called her on Tuesday, Wednesday… didn’t answer, which was super unusual,” she said.

But, “she was so excited to come back. We were making plans,” Rothschild said.

On the morning of Raynes’ shocking death, some friends received the news via text, which included a message that Raynes’ sister, Nancy Davis, “would be very grateful for ANY information regarding what Patty has been doing for the past week or two.”

Raynes’ horse riding bestie, Alex Hamer, told us she was “totally normal” when they had dinner and attended a magazine party together on April 19, the last time he saw her.

The last time he spoke to her was on Tuesday, and, “she was not feeling like herself. She said asthma had been bothering her and that she had been to the doctor,” he told us.

Raynes had not been seen riding her horse “for the past four or five days” leading up to her death, according to Hamer, who added she was looking forward to having a horse to ride in New York this summer.

“She was talking about being in the city for May and June, and then spending a little time in the Hamptons and upstate,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rothschild is helping the Davis family plan her memorial, which we’re told should happen on Tuesday.

Raynes was the daughter of the late oil tycoon Marvin Davis, who passed away in 2004.

Raynes’ family was one of the inspirations behind the Carrington family on Aaron Spelling’s iconic nighttime soap, “Dynasty.”

Needless to say, the dynamic was complicated. Patty once sued her siblings, her mom, and family advisers, claiming they helped her famous dad loot her trust fund.

Multiple sources told us that Raynes was estranged from her West Coast family for years until loss in the family — including the 2017 death of her son Nick — eventually brought them back together.

“She became very close with her sister, Nancy, and her mother again. She talked to them all of the time and was so happy they reconciled,” Rothschild said.

Raynes’ mother, Barbara, told us she was devastated after her daughter’s passing. “Patty has left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled,” she said in a family statement.

On Friday, her sister, Nancy, posted a tribute on Instagram, and wrote: “Heaven has a new Angel.”

She also wrote: “I’m beyond shocked and devastated to lose my fun, loving, loyal and caring sister with no warning and not getting to give her one last kiss, one last hug and one last time of telling her how much I really loved her . . . I know she is now with her son Nicholas embracing him as she was so sad always about him leaving this earth too soon in life and on a big horse farm in heaven jumping over beautiful clouds and tall fences.”

Authorities have not released Raynes’ cause of death.
