This is one cardigan that definitely won’t get lost under someone’s bed.
Ahead of the release of her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on Oct. 3, Taylor Swift added brand-new orange cardigans to her online merch store Wednesday — and they’ll only be available to shop through Friday at 11:59 a.m. ET (provided they don’t sell out long before then, that is).
By far the sparkliest and most statement-making take on Swift’s signature merch item yet, the new Lurex sweaters reflect the chosen color palette of the superstar’s upcoming record and come in glittery orange gift boxes to match.

Festooned with shimmering buttons and stars, the knits are also embroidered with Swift’s initial on the front in tonal orange thread, and will ship with a copy of “The Life of a Showgirl” on CD.
Swift first issued limited-edition branded cardigans when she released her “Folklore” album in 2020, even wearing one of the cream-colored sweaters in the music video for the LP’s lead single, titled (what else?) “Cardigan.”
She’s been known to send the snuggly styles to her famous friends, and has since rolled out new versions themed to each of her subsequent albums and re-records — a sky blue seagull-embroidered sweater for “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” a gray one for “The Tortured Poets Department,” a navy blue knit for “Midnights” and so on.

As for why Swift went with orange as the official hue of “The Life of a Showgirl”?
“I’ve just always liked it,” the 14-time Grammy winner told Travis and Jason Kelce during her recent appearance on their “New Heights” podcast.
“It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt. And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during [the Eras Tour], which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”
