Sure, I follow elections and campaigns, but unlike many people in politics, I don’t do so with the zeal of a fantasy football player who knows all the stats, figures the probabilities, and knows every precinct.
I always marveled at Michael Barone, for instance, who could rattle off any set of facts about any state, county, or district, and who had all the inside scoops in every race that mattered.
Me? I am an ideas guy, not a numbers guy.
So I was only vaguely aware of the Texas Senate primaries. Sure, I knew Ken Paxton was trying to take out John Cornyn and had a modest rooting interest in Paxton, but I just assumed that Jasmine Crockett was going to win her primary and that whoever won the Republican primary was going to curb-stomp her in November.
Paxton and Cornyn are headed to a runoff, and if I had to guess, Paxton will win in the next round, ensuring that a fire-breather will be the candidate. But even if Cornyn squeaks by, the campaign is going to be a blast to watch, thanks to the modest surprise victory of James Talarico over Crockett.
Crockett, who is now crying foul and who has become that most reviled thing among Democrats, unless you are a black woman running for governor or Senate, an election denier. She says she was robbed by Republican cheating, which would be a joke—could Republicans have a more ideal candidate in the Senate race than Crockett?—until you discover that Talarico is even crazier than Crockett.
Crockett is just your average left-wing race-baiter. Talarico is a leftist preacher who believes that Jesus is non-binary.
WATCH: Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico is a radical trans activist who weaponizes Christianity to push a far-left agenda to mutilate children.
He also thinks that “God is non-binary.”

Sure, Crockett mouths all the appropriate leftist nostrums, and no doubt believes most of it at some level, but let’s just say she doesn’t ooze sincerity. She is a hustler, using her racial and sexual status to climb the intersectional ladder, which doesn’t fly in Texas outside the Deep Blue areas. The race against Paxton or Cornyn would be pretty boring.

Talarico? He’s actually sincerely low-T left. He makes Beto O’Rourke look like a lumberjack stud, in much the same way that Pete Buttigieg is auditioning for that role on the national level.

We’ve all met someone like Talarico, to our displeasure. Somebody so seemingly nice, with a talent for making the case for a demonic ideology—one that clearly appeals to some fraction of Christians who desperately want to be progressive without giving up their claim to loving Jesus.
🚨 The Democrat nominee for Senate in Texas says that the story of Mary’s Annunciation justifies abortion:
“The Angel comes down and asks Mary if this is something she wants to do… To me that is an affirmation that creation has to be done with consent.” pic.twitter.com/D0ZOr1RBhi

Huh? That’s quite a spin, but no doubt he sincerely believes it, and by promoting this demonic interpretation of the Bible, he is giving permission to embrace evil.
This is democrat nominee for TX senator, James Talarico, giving his first sermon
It was a speech on why God supports abortion
But before he began, he gave this disclaimer about how he knows trans people need abortions too so to not take his use of the word ‘woman’ as exhaustive pic.twitter.com/1nSROs7waN

Which is the point, of course.
This is the only ad needed to defeat Texas Senate Democrat James Talarico.

Watching the Democrats pour millions of dollars into this race is going to be a blast. And I would bet that they will do exactly that, believing that the Cornyn/Paxton fight reveals a deep divide among Republicans.
Like Ahab with the whale, Democrats have been hunting for the candidate who will turn Texas Blue. Yet, obviously, they have no idea what people are looking for in a leader, at least in Texas. They thought Beto, and apparently think Mayor Pete, are the avatars of the new masculinity, and they are going to sell it to Texans as if they were hungry for thin, effeminate, lefties who want to sterilize children, open the borders, and kill babies, and just need a permission structure to do it.
MSNBC describes James Talarico and Jasmine Crockett as two of the “most effective communicators in the entire Democratic Party right now” and say they “look like a great pair of running mates”
Couldn’t agree more, let’s get them on a presidential ticket

A Pastor! Who could be better to appeal to the Christian rubes in Texas?
Almost anybody else, not that Democrats seem to understand that.
This is going to be fun to watch.
