Taylor Swift is known for her love of numerology – and unsurprisingly, both the stars and her favorite number aligned for her engagement to Travis Kelce.
On Tuesday, the pop icon and the NFL star, both 35, announced they are set to tie the knot after two years of dating after sharing snapshots of a romantic photoshoot in a stunning rose garden.
Swift has never shied away from her obsession with numerology and how it plays into her music, tours, and relationships – with the singer often waxing lyrical about her lucky number 13.
On the New Heights podcast earlier in August, Swift expressed her love of numerology, saying, ‘I love math stuff, I love dates. That stuff I find really fun.’
Swift has always found 13 to be her lucky number, as she was born on the 13th of December and turned 13 on Friday the 13th.
‘I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro,’ the singer told Jay Leno in a 2009 interview.
‘Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically, whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it’s a good thing,’ she added.

The couple’s engagement announcement also came exactly 13 days after the Blank Space singer appeared on New Heights.
On the podcast, Kelce explained he had been wearing 87 for his entire NFL career ‘and she’s 13,’ with Swift helpfully explaining that ’13 plus 87 equals 100. That’s numerology.’
During the podcast, Kelce’s brother Jason also revealed that his favorite number was 13 – much to Swift’s delight.
‘That’s part of the numerology of why we’re dating,’ she quipped.
‘That’s part of it. It’s been in my life, man,’ Kelce added.
Some fans also pointed out that 13 plus 13 equals 26, the date they announced they had gotten engaged.
In the Instagram post, the Grammy winner also revealed her mammoth diamond engagement ring – showing off the Old Mine Brilliant Cut which appears to be from Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry. It is worth an estimated $675,000 to $1 million.
The star shared the post on her Instagram, set to the ballad So High School, which is about her enduring love for Kelce.

As dates are also important to Swift, some fans noticed the popstar revealed their engagement news on Tuesday, just hours after ex-best friend Blake Lively’s birthday.
Though the power couple caused an avalanche of congratulations from famous friends, Lively notably stayed silent and didn’t like the post on Instagram.
But though the Gossip Girl actress was active on her Instagram, as she re-posted a number of birthday wishes to her Stories, she did not acknowledge Swift’s happy news.
The tension between the former friends blew up after Swift’s name got dragged into Lively’s 2024 legal battle with Justin Baldoni — his lawyers claimed Lively tried to ‘coerce’ Swift into a public statement and delete texts — and even though a subpoena was later dropped, the drama clearly left its mark.
