Tempers flared on Married At First Sight’s reunion dinner on Sunday when controversial contestants Ellie Dix and Jono McCullough arrived as a newly formed couple.

After comments made by Jono’s former bride Lauren Dunn, Ellie became so enraged her foul mouthed rant had to be extensively censored with a bleep.

However, the exchange that went to air may not have given the full story.

The MAFS Uncensored Instagram account has claimed the scene was edited and that Ellie directed her insults towards fellow MAFS bride Sara Mesa, rather than Lauren.

According to a source that spoke to the Instagram gossip account, ‘When Ellie said that in real life, it was directed at SARA who was having a dig at Ellie, not at Lauren at all.

In the scene that went to air, Ellie says, ‘Are you f***ing serious, I left the experiment in week five you f***ing b***h’, in what looks like a direct response to Lauren.

But the clap-back was apparently directed towards Sara after she accused Ellie of craving screen time.

The show’s experts meanwhile said of the spray: ‘We’ve never seen this side of Ellie she’s coming across as quite insensitive and very confrontational’.

Jono and Lauren then came to metaphorical blows, with a furious Lauren calling her former groom a ‘dog’.

‘You’re the nastiest person I’ve ever met in my life, Lauren,’ Jono snapped back.

The pair had announced their relationship during the show’s reunion episode on Sunday night.

After denying they had feelings for one another, they faced the other brides and grooms as a couple.

Arriving at the dinner party four weeks after filming ended, the couple walked in holding hands.

The other participants were stunned, none more so than Jono’s former bride Lauren.

Other participants noted how hurt Lauren seemed, and how ‘slimy’ and ‘smug’ Jono was behaving.

‘Of course, I’m hurt. And I have been made to feel like I am just this, like, evil b***h that has these walls up, giving this nice guy a chance,’ a tearful Lauren said.

‘The whole time, I am treated as this cold person because I’m reactive and I use swear words. Like, that makes me bad?’

‘I’ve got a loud voice and I swear a bad person, and he just put on this, like, nice guy act the entire time. Like, it’s so unfair,’ she sobbed.
