Australian fashion designer Alice McCall has made a gut-wrenching admission about her excruciating health battle, revealing she may have cancer – just weeks after announcing the shock closure of her label.
The 49-year-old fashion icon broke down in tears as she explained she needed to undergo further testing to see if she has bone cancer.
‘I don’t feel great, I feel it’s almost like acid through my body. My bones… I’ve got five lesions in my hips and one lesion on my spine,’ Alice said in a tearful video.
‘It’s just a lot… I’ve just been finding it hard. I love what I used to do as a creative and as a designer. I used to put so much love into my creations.
‘I feel like that old me has kind of died.’
Struggling to contain her emotions, the 49-year-old designer said she’s been trying to navigate the next part of her life.
‘I’m trying to work out what drives me now and what guides me, I’m very spiritual… I’ve just been finding it hard,’ she explained.
‘My health is really down and I have a chronic illness because I have functional neurological disorder, stenosis, and now these lesions.
‘It’s all centered all around my spine and all connected to my central nervous system, and it’s just there all the time.’

Alice said she wanted to be candid about her health in order to connect with her fans as her ‘authentic self’.
‘I’m not saying this for pity. I’m saying this just to connect with what I’m going through, and because I actually believe this is my journey,’ she said.
‘I have to believe and I know there’s something that’s drawn this to me, this journey.
‘So I’m choosing now to just keep one foot in front of the other and to stay open to the experience and curious to the experience of why this pain?’
‘Difficult to know the path’
She thanked everyone for their overwhelming support.
‘It’s difficult to know the path, but thank you everyone for all the support. I really appreciate it,’ she said.
Alice will be returning to a cancer hospital on Wednesday to get further testing done.
‘I think the body is kind of a miracle the way it’s designed, and I believe I can heal,’ she said.

The high-end fashion label went into voluntary administration in November 2020 due to unprecedented effects of COVID, owing $1million to creditors.
Two years later, Alice McCall collapsed after going into liquidation.
But in an unexpected move, the designer sparked controversy in late 2023 when she announced her surprising collaboration with fast fashion retailer SHEIN.
‘I’m absolutely gutted’
Earlier this month, Alice revealed she had no choice but to close her eponymous fashion brand again due to ongoing health issues.
‘I’m suffering… I’m really sick… and finding it hard to navigate the right way forward,’ she said in an emotional post.
‘I’m really trying to cultivate good energy and healing. Unfortunately I’m having to close my brand down again very soon as I just can’t work at the moment.
‘I want to send appreciation to my business partners for believing in me and the investment, but we now need to close as I’m dealing with severe health issues.
‘I love designing… I love being creative.. I’m absolutely gutted with what’s happening with my health… It’s one thing after the other.’

Alice has been struggling with several lesions on her pelvic bone and vertebrae.
On top of her health condition, she said she was fearing she may have had an ‘adverse reaction to a radioactive IV at the nuclear department of the cancer hospital’.
‘I am now even more sick,’ she explained.
‘Be kind’
Alice said all she wanted was to ‘find peace, light, love and healing’.
‘It’s pretty simple. I feel so many people are going through things… We just need to be kind to each other,’ she explained.
‘It’s really f***ing hard at the moment. I just want to focus on getting better and cultivating light and love.’
