Vicky Pattison has revealed she is ready to start a family and start making 'more important TV' - as she has launched her second collection in collaboration with Matalan and Little Mistress. Pictured wearing items from her new Matalan collection

Vicky Pattison has opened up about how she feels about her Strictly co-stars – and her exciting plans for after the show.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the former Geordie Shore star, 37, said that despite fierce competition every Saturday night, the cast ‘all get along’.

Vicky, who is currently competing in this year’s glitzy ballroom series with professional partner Kai Widdrington, 30, also shared insight into what it’s like to film the BBC show.

Although stars are pitted against each other in the weekly dance battles, Vicky insisted that there is ‘zero competition’ between her and the other celebrities.

‘I just feel like they’re my family, I love them so much.

‘George Clark texts me every day, Ross King holds my hand when I’m nervous, and Chris Robshaw scoops me up in a bear hug every time he sees us.

‘I’m obviously a really nervous person and struggle with being out of my comfort zone.

‘I don’t want to harp on about it because everyone’s bored of hearing about my nerves but I am finding it hard and going through it with them is making it easier.’

Training is gruelling, too, the reality star admitted.

‘It’s hard work and I know I’m not down the mines, I don’t want to come across as tone deaf.

‘I’m not opposed to hard work,’ she said.

But being in the training room for several hours a day, learning routines from scratch, is no easy feat, Vicky said.

‘It’s mentally exhausting as well, you’re asking your brain to understand things it never has, and for a novice like me, that’s overwhelming.

Friends Pete Wicks and Angela Scanlon have previously been on the show, but it took going on herself to realise just how challenging it can be.

‘I didn’t think I was deserving of being on a show that’s so lovely and wholesome,’ she said, adding that ‘the feeling of joy’ was ‘wild’.

Elsewhere, Vicky revealed her plans after the show.

‘On a personal level, I wouldn’t mind starting a family.

‘I’m not getting any younger. I feel like I’m in a nice place professionally to start ticking that off the list,’ she told the Daily Mail.

‘I would love to make more documentaries and more TV that really helps women, whether that’s on the horizon, I’m not really sure yet,’ she said.

‘I’d like to make more important TV, more powerful TV if I could be lucky enough, that would be great.’

It’s another string to the bow for the former party girl, who has just launched a second collection in collaboration with Matalan and Little Mistress.

For now though, Vicky is happy to embrace her not-so-serious side with her new clothes collection, revealing some of her most glitzy garments yet.

Following the sell-out success of the TV personality’s collection with the retailer earlier this year, Vicky has once again collaborated with the brand to curate a sparkling new festive range.

Offering trend-led styles, brimming with sequins, Vicky has joined forces with the brand to create a line of partywear, including a black velvet suit, costing £68, and a striking red velvet jumpsuit, priced at £40.

‘The collection is fun, affordable, fashionable and caters to sizes ranging from 8 to 22, so we’re really advocating for inclusivity,’ Vicky said.

‘I think there’s something for every woman of every shape to feel gorgeous and incredible.

‘I’ve always been an advocate for affordable fashion, and I love that the collection is in Matalan.’

Vicky has been heavily involved in the collection’s designs, ensuring it was fun and represented something she would wear.

‘There’s loads of really flattering soft tailoring, different hem lines going on, gorgeous sparkles, jumpsuits, there’s kind of something for everybody – and of course, a lot that I can’t wait to wear.’

Essential to the collaborative mission was ensuring there was ‘something for everyone’.

‘I want women to put on this range and feel like they’re going to have the best night of their lives with the mums from school, or meet the man of their dreams, or they’re going to have a night to remember at the boozy brunch.’
